Really enjoying the game!
One minor issue to report.
When trying to move air units I am sometimes affected by a random screen jump. After selecting the unit and then scrolling to the desired point, I then click on the specific hex, an airfield for example. Instead of the movement path being displayed to the hex I clicked on, a completely different hex is chosen often in the opposite direction. This can be fixed by zooming in and out a few times, so it is not a fatal error but can be annoying nonetheless.

I have finished panzer corps Wehrmacht on iPad . While I feel it's a good game for the iPad it is no PC version... Many options are not yet available to really call this a true PC port of the same game. It needs patching and it will take several to bring this up to par with the PC version. I played on field marshal and have spent the last two days playing this game almost non stop. While I feel I got my money's worth I would expect that the same features would be available (after all for the same price as the PC version) on the iPad version. I hope (but not holding onto or betting my life on) that they will take the extra step and make this game all it can be. Also I feel the beta testers missed some key basic stuff that a well experienced panzer corps player would have surely caught for example the music volume not to mention any infantry along with their vehicles can air transport to another airfield which in fact helped me to win some battles much earlier than later.
Everyone have a good holiday.

Thanks for feedback. You are of course right that iPad version misses some goodies from desktop, but we are working on it. Remember desktop version did not become what it is now instantly, it took many patches over two years. I think, our current iPad release is already more advanced than PzC PC 1.0 which originally came out on 11th of July 2011.
If possible, could you please list everything you missed in the iPad version compared to the PC. Probably we are aware of most of them, but we might miss a few. For example, the issue with infantry+trucks not being able to load into air transport has not been reported before. Desktop version offers to discard truck in this case. Good catch.

It sounds to me like both of you might be seeing the same (or similar) touch-dragging issues to what I have reported in the Tech Support forum. While it keeps happening to me, I have unfortunately not been able to identify a specific situation where it can be reproduced ... it just starts happening several times in a row, where I keep trying to scroll the map but it keeps jumping to a location in the opposite direction, until I finally manage to get it to not do so once and then it behaves itself again for a while. It seems like this generally happens when I am trying to drag the map toward or close to the left or bottom edges of the map, but I can't even be sure about that.
If you haven't already, I hope you'll consider reporting this issue in the Tech Support forum so that Slitherine knows it isn't just my iPad upon which Panzer Corps is doing stuff like this. It's definitely the most irritating glitch I have encountered thus far with the iPad version.

I'm not sure if this was asked elsewhere - I looked but didn't see it.
Will Soviet Corps be a in-app purchase in the iPad version of Panzercorps? I've bought everything for the game for the iPad and hoped that might be available as well. It's a truly wonderful product!

Because Soviet Corps is not a finished product - it's only in the planning stages...?

I looked and did not see the question asked... I know it's not yet made. I'm asking what their intentions are.

So I finally got my iPad and I am eager to start playing, any updates on this? May I suggest an even easier solution, if transfering proper savegames is too hard, just transfer the core unit file that you get after each of the Grand Campaign DLC's? That would be sufficient for the beginning, I'd say.

There is no real file system on iPad and so no way to copy files to and from it. We'd need a way to cloud transfer saved games from one to the other and its a big task and not one the team currently are working on so unfortunately you have to start a new campaign.

No way via PBEM either for the same online account?

That is how we would need to do it but there is no system in place for it which is why its a big job. If we didn't have the PBEM system it would be an enormous one

Could you get around it by making the Grand Campaign file just big game? Sort of like a Allied Corps is. Such that maybe a user can't purchase only one part of the grand campaign but must purchase them all and they will all be linked? However a user would be able to pick where in the grand campaign they could start.

I purchased the IPAD version, using a newer IPAD Air and I have to say I would regret it some ways. The PC version just looks so much sharper and has better colors and details on the units. Also it has a full editor and library, of course I purchased the Allied Corps Expansion as well. The IPAD version is pretty solid, though it doesn't even look as detailed as the Glory of General series, something needs to be done to increase the sprite resolution and overall detail for the IPAD. It should be made to use the full 2048 x 1536 resolution.

This game surely isn't the only one that runs on the retina iPads using standard resolution imagery... Redrawing all the graphics is a major undertaking, and would not benefit people with non-retina iPads. I fully understand if Slith wanted to gauge market demand first, before deciding to upgrade the graphics.
But hey; if you are joined by enough other iPad customers, perhaps your wish will come true in the future!

Thanks for the reply Molve, overall, hard to complain, really enjoy the game, just wish Slitherine would take advantage of the retina display as many of the other developers are. The remake of Legion, Gates of Troy, Chariots of War etc., are all just being directly ported without being truly optimized to take advantage of the high res retina display. What good is this capability, if they aren't going to use it.

To speak generally, this is a known problem that has plagued console ports for years. That is, electronic games that are made to a lowest denominator (usually a game console such as Nintendo or Playstation) with no retooling to allow for the usually far superior capabilities of the PC.
Remember, Panzer Corps was made in a bygone age as demonstrated by its system requirements:
RAM: 1GB RAM (XP) or 2GB RAM (Vista/7)
VIDEO: 64Mb video card
SCREEN: 1024 by 600 pixels high
I'm sure that if the success of the Panzer Corps series continues there will be a "hi res" version eventually. Doubling the graphics fidelity (or should I say quadrupling) is something many newer computers would be capable to take advantage of, not just the subset of iPad customers with retina iPads!

One thing to bear in mind is that while retina quadruples the number of screen pixels (and this pixels required in an image) without equivalent memory increase (iPad 2 to 3 only doubled the memory). So it is also a technical issue, given the terrible memory management system on iOS. Some games do indeed have retina versions of their gfx, but most are not as complex, with the range of visuals onscreen at one time, as Panzer Corps.
And as said, the asset work would be truly enormous - perhaps even enorMaus
Cheers
