I'm really looking forward to this games release 1st quarter of next year, since it's based on Warhammer 40,000 are there any plans to make an expansion that will also include Battlefleet Gothic :?:

I must be inside the matrix. First we get Pandora and now there's a 40k turn based game set in armageddon!!!!!
How great is this!

Maybe the Eldar could creep in at some point?
If my recollection of lore serves they were the cause of the battle, but not participants, but... y'know... It's not really a 40k engagement with treacherous xenos gadding about complicating things. 8)

Well its high time we got some TB games happening into the far flung future! The last time i played TB was the Panzer General II & People's General (of which i modded PeG: Shock & Awe & expanded the units from 300 to under 1,000!). I hope you have retained the easy magic of those two PG2 & PeG as i believe that was the final peak for turn based games! After that it all went down hill because companies tried to force gamers to except newer, less than stellar styles; Something we couldn't care for.

I got excited seeing those new units presented! They look alive! I have high hopes for this Warhammer 40,000 TB game by Slitherine. Important question - Will there be mapping & modding tools set? I would love to create Titans if you already not have!!!

Will Slitherine also go the route of RTS like Total War series with this Warhammer 40,000 Armageddon license? Looking forwards!

Please if you are really going to do this try something new and attempt co operative campaign that scales in difficulty up to a max of 4 or 8 players. Otherwise I don't foresee this being something worth spending my money on.

How do you see 4-8 players games being any fun in multiplayer? Technically we could do it but it would be so dull to wait for 7 other people to do their turns before it was your go - probably a week or more!

There is a lot of new stuff in Armageddon but you'll have to decide if it is what you're looking for. It will not have 4-8 player MP though :)

Game sounds really interesting, but I've been searching high and low through the net and have heard nothing about this game since last year. It would please me greatly (and i'm sure the rest of us eager fans) to hear any sort of update to the game for 2014 if possible please. Thanks!

Not trolling. An honest question. Is this basically a re-skinned version of Panzer Corps? If not, how are they different?

Short answer: no. Other than both being hex-based turn-based games, the gameplay is totally different, and the engine is a new DirectX one.

Cheers

lordzimoa wrote:Here some more comments on that this is just PzC with a Warhammer 40,000 re-skin. Of course it share some similarities and is also a hex-base turn based game. but there are some big differences:

Armageddon has some high level similarities with Panzer Corps (in particular branching campaign and unit carry-over) and UI organization is similar too. However, battlefield tactics is indeed different. Here are just some things which drive combat in Armageddon, but which were not present (or played a very minor role) in Panzer Corps:

- most units have ranged attacks
- cover
- line of sight
- accuracy
- rate of fire
- several weapons per unit
- morale
- assaults
- units with multiple hit points, stacks of widely different size

Oh, and graphics engine has been rewritten from scratch too. New DirectX-based implementation gives some nice advantages, like smooth zooming in a very wide range. Also, the units have 6 orientations now, as opposed to 2 in Panzer Corps, and fire multiple weapons when attacking, so combat looks much better than in PzC.
Hope that helps. :D
