it sound as the game will use the Panzer Corps engine.
Or Battle Academy one, that would look much nicer with the 3D and animations.

Its fantastic news. Was hoping some other front, say something like something similar to Vraks or Targos campagin, with Krieg or Tau. Hers hoping other games similar to this or Rites of War.

Got to agree with you there, I've always thought that Battle Academy would make a great 40K conversion. But for a battle the scale of Armageddon, Panzer Corps would seem to make a lot of sense.

After the huge disappointment that was Dow2 i d hate if armaggedon was another game where 10 space marines fight 20 orks ... hopefully it is panzercorps scale but i cant imagine them taking armaggedon scenario and then having mini battles.
Final liberation was the best 40k single Player game anyways - DOW unfortunately just looked great ( and was fun in multiplayer ) but gameplaywise the singleplayer was pretty meh. Just my opinion of course - i still loved dow (1 at least) despite the short and weak campaign.

Great news and either Panzer Corps or Battle Academy engine will be definitely good.

I would personally, however, prefer the PanzerCorps engine (system).

Downloaded the Panzer Corps demo to see what it is like as it sounds like the engine that will be used on Armageddon. Very impressive and balanced, turn based gameplay. Perfect for Epic style 40K. I hope they put a little more richness into the visuals and audio though. With 40K you need a more cinematic feel:-
-Destroyed tanks stay on the field as burning wrecks that provide cover.
-Terrain becomes cratered due to bombardment.
-A sense of artistic lighting.
-Audio feedback from units like battle cries, confirmation of orders, death cries, etc.
-Destructible buildings like C&C Red Alert(I think).
-More sprite animation.
All this can be achieved in a 2d isometric engine.
I will be buying this anyway if the game play is as good as Panzer Corps, regardless of the visual quality

Destructible buildings and wrecks would make little on a game using the Panzer Corps engine :
It is built to represent large scale engagements, not battalion scale warfare.
For Epic 40K style battles, I think the Battle Academy engine would work better.
