I've played Panzed General for years fisrt time I bought it I paid $59.00 for it you had 3 disk to load and you had to generate a boot disk to get to to run. I also bought the play station copies still have those, the original it's the only way I've been able to play. I did buy the i42 and i45 on ipad what a rip off. I have been looking at this for quite some time but my computer was from 1998 so until I bought a new one I wasn't going to waste the money. Well new computer first game I download second thing I download is splashtop, third thing is DLC Mega Pack. The only thing I'm a little disapointed in is I don't get to go to Africa oh well I waite for it to come out on iPad then I'll buy it all. Should offer some kind of a discout package, if you buy the Africa Corp or Panzer Corp and the full Mega Pack, for the registered following of our Corp we will offer Panzer or Africa at a discount.

Ok I spend about 2-3 hours per scenario on a one time play through. Let's say only 2. There's how many scenarios in the mega pack? 170 or so? That would be 340 hours of playtime for one time play through of each of the scenarios. Replay value completely ignored. Now I pay 40 euros for the boxed version (yes I'm consciously choosing the highest price here). Now what do I get there.. 8,5 hours of gameplay per Euro... Know what? That's how long the first play through of a modern 40 bucks shooter is. In total. So complaining about the price of a game that is 40 times cheaper than several modern 3D shooter that apparently the majority buys without complaining about the price... common.
Yes the game is probably very cheap to produced compared to a shooter. But guess where the money goes in those games: Markteing and Art Department. The gameplay programming and design in like negligable in the buget.
I for one rather like THIS solution here and I just bought the mega pack

I don't like the tone what you used but I have to join partly to your opinion: after 1,5 year of release the 30/40 $ is too high price for the original game. Furthermore that it is not updated to the new patches and therefore some scenarios (for example Overlord) are unplayable - as I earlier mentioned in one of the topic.
It should have a 20/30 $ price. Still I hope it will go to Steam and more people will be interested for it.
As for the DLC price: Man! If you don't want to buy it, don't do it: there are so many wonderful Mod-Campaigns out there!! And they are totally free.

...and yes as some players already mentioned the price/gameplay hours is extreme high! With which other game you play 100+ hours? (Not to mention the another 100+ hours to making mods like the Italian Campaign 2.0...)

But the game is dying. There is no competitive official multiplayer ladder. The online server is only for casual players who wish to play a few games.

as a result there are no state of the art competitive games.

I doubt the game is dying. For many people, i wildly claim without being able to provide any proof, even for the majority, PC is more about single player then multi player.

Mordan, I'm 55, I've been playing a version of this since the late 90's. If it's dying it is a slooooow death. As you can see from this website nobody is interested either.

The game is definitely not dying. I've been playing it for almost 6 months now in total, and I can say that I never played any game that much. With all spin offs, the upcoming new games and mods it has unique potential. I didn't try MP though, but single player is equally fun.

Although I do agree that the price is a bit high, but I guess that is due to much lower number of customers compared to the AAA games and FPS games.

Well even at some $40 it's just about the price of a dinner for 2 at a not too fancy restaurant (no wine of course).... So can't say its expensive

However I really DISLIKE ( remaining polite) this plimus system of purchase.... they actually declined one of my purchases....... Cant you guys get some other less pain in the behind provider . Thanks

No of course not. MP is still fun without a ladder or tournament but there's nothing wrong with a little competition, look at any sporting event. Obviously your not competitive but I'm sure some players here would like the challenge. Its war out there
And i think Mordan has a point. MP has been left as is since release. There's still plenty of interest and no doubt countless games have been played, but it will die out if the developers never contribute anything else to the arena. That would be a shame because its got so much potential.
MP campaigns, co operative battles and tournaments would be great fun and keep interest alive.

On the competition it is not something we have focused on but if there is demand we can look at creating tournaments.

When I was a kid I played Panzer Leader, Panzer Blitz, and Arab/Israeli Wars until I wore out the game tokens. Then of course Panzer/Allied General later on. These games you can play for years.

Think its a lot of money when compared to other games? It's really not. You pick up a normal video game, and play 8-10 hours and you can beat it. With PC you will be at it mucher longer than that to get to the end. Especially with the mega expansion pack. And the replayability factor is huge as you take different paths or change out your core group makeup or use different strategies. The hame is well worth the cost.

OK, I played Combat Mission Barbarossa to Berlin (made also mods for it) also since the beginning until the release of PC which is also more than 8 years.

That's putting it in perspective nicely. I had all three of those games as a kid as well ... in fact I had two copies each of Panzerblitz and Panzer Leader, just to be able to create larger maps and deploy more units. And since I didn't know anyone else who was interested in them, I only played them against myself. Games like PzC are an absolute bargain when compared to those days ... at least PzC comes with an AI opponent.
