Spike - Lots of terrain, shooting and table edges was my undoing against elephants and bowmen Wednesday.
Dave - I allow myself one army a year and already have someone painting this years purchase. I'm already thinking about next year and have been seriously considering something with plenty of bow / light spear. Not many armies fit the bill but one or two interesting ones. If I can get someone prepared to sell an already painted one I might snap it up.

I have only played the Swiss a couple of times so far and only once at V2. So far with limited success.
Its not an easy army. Shaun Drummond struggled at Britcon with it and Spikes successes came after playing it for quite a while.
I think its better on a smaller table which is where Spike has done well which is why I am bringing it.
At v2 it also loses the advantage of the phenomenal BG count you can get. It also manoeuvres much slower than v1.
Interested to see how it does but its no super army in the hands of us mere novices.
Of course if you could all throw your games against me and Robert then we can 'prove' that Spikes victories were entirely due to the army.

Time to set myself up for a fall then, Spikes is the only swiss army I havn't beaten including Shauns.Lynda has pointed out I havn't beaten hers either but we don't get to play at comps.
Still if Hammy does the draw by date then you 2 will have to play each other for a draw

In many games I have only lost one or two BG's in the whole game, so I say that the BG count is less important, than the flexibility that the 17 BG's bring to the party.

If Ian Speed gets to read this.................
After you left the Games Expo on Saturday there were 2 sets of dice left and a set of skull cohesion markers.
Drop me a message and I can check how best to return them to you.

Thanks for organising another very enjoyable comp Hammy.
Congrats to Dino. If you can win with Early Carthage you really are good.
