In fact IMO its silly playing V1 at all. Unless the NDL intends never to move to V2.
V2 will have been out for more than 2 months and as Kev says 2 major V2 comps will have been played before the first round.
Is V1 still being played at Derby? Halifax? MAWS? Mailed Fist? Durham?
There are more 7th edition WRG games being played at Derby now than V1 FoG.

The other point is that the Northern League is a great way to learn V2. It's no good turing up at Britcon with a duff army and poor knowledge of the rules and geting stuffed in 6 games. Better to do that in your first two games at a Northern League event.

I haven't seen anyone playing Fog AM V1 at Halifax since before Warfare.

Both games at derby last night were v2. There have been v2 games going on for around a month now.

As for me I will not be getting V2 FOG am this year, next year or the year after that, as I have a lot of family things to do over the next 2 or 3 years with Jackie my significant other half so wargaming is at the bottom of the very big list of things to do over the next 2 or 3 years.
Make that 20 or 30 mate as if I know Jackie she's only showed you page 1 of the list

All the FOG games at MAWS on Monday were V2.
Also
One problem with this is that it will exclude anyone who doesn't enter round 1 because they don't want to play V1. I think any debate would be better conducted through this forum so people can consider the various views.
This is a valid point because I have already spoken to someone on this subject who won't play if it is V1.

I vote for V2. I think it's going to be very difficult for people who switch to V2 and play it on club nights and at other comps to then go back to V1 for the Northern Doubles rounds. I also think that if the authors / publishers support the rules, as they have done and are doing, then competition organisers should encourage people to switch over to the latest version of the rules and thus support the authors & publishers of the rules.

From Colin, Geoff & Mike,
This is the final post on this to give all active FOG am players the right to decide which version of the rules will be played.
The first round will be played in FOG am version one.
FOG am players will only be polled on the day as to which version they wish to use going forwards.
We appreciate this is a compromise put is the best way to give all active players in the Northern Double League an opportunity to decide.
Yours Colin, Geoff & Mike
