Indeed.
As a gamer I've gave up looking for metacritic as a guidance a long time ago.

As an "oldtimer" of Panzer general, I am certainly partial to this game and want to thanks the development team and the forum members which make this much improved renewal of the game such a pleasure. Even if it is no big help for your issue, I can only point that this type of sophisticated bad behaviour using internet for revenge/commercial war or simply money is not new since I have already experienced frequently with my job as a computer and security specialist.

Here's a first clue (but no solid evidence):
One of the reviews copied for the Metacritic review was from a German game. How many people have heard of Grotesque Tactics 2? Likely to be someone who was aware of this German game. I can only think of one renowned German in the wargaming community and his forum usernames contain the capital letters "GER".

I think this guy quoted above is the most likely candidate for being the trouble maker. The posts he has put on sites like The Miniatures Page and some others I have seen makes him look pretty bad. And coming back here to "help" seems like something a person like that would do.

If you have any ideas about who it could be, please could you contact JD privately rather than post in this thread. Thanks!

I would like to thank all of you who wrote to us in connection with this nasty affair. Your help advice and information is greatly appreciated by both us and the Lordz. Consequently, I think so far as "investigations" go we have now reached a conclusion.

It is immensly satisfying to see how the wargaming fraternity rallied around in the face of this nasty behaviour, all credit to you.

Best Wishes
