Ok folks, I now have all the lists. Sorry for the hassle with my e-mail stopping working just as the lists were due. That is now all fixed and will hopefully remain so.
Anyway, for those who are interested, here are the runners and riders.
Answers on a postcard as to why there are 3 Swiss armies in that lot

That's 21 entries, sans Dino. Does this mean Hammy's in too, to round up the numbers?

It means that I will as usual bring an army (currently TBD) and if everyone turns up then I will play. If for whatever reason someone else drops out or decides on a last minute entry then I will just umpire.

This used to be a nice quiet comp where you could bring your more unusual armies, now look at it,Swiss Romans whereever I look,is there a wooden spoon prize
Lynda may drop out as well,Katie is being induced Friday and she wants Lynda there

Looking at the entered armies I don't think an even vaguely historical round 1 is possible, especially when you try to keep club members apart in round 1. I think it will have to be straight Swiss.
David F
If Lynda has to drop out at the last moment that is not an issue for me. I will bring an army anyway and play it by ear on the day. Hope everything goes well for Katie and your grandchild.

Yes, great event... My Apologies to David F in the last round for playing like a complete tool and offering only minimal resistance! It had been a long week and that third games was just a killer for me.
Hopefully the new venue will have better A-C. I thought we'd got past that RPG players /Great unwashed stage. Going downstairs proved otherwise
Thanks
Simon

Thanks for a great tournament Hammy, thanks to my opponents, and especially thanks to Jacob's opponents for easing him through his games and ensuring he didn't finish in last place.

Thanks Hammy for another cracking tournament. Managed toplay three oppoeets I had never played before so thanks to Robert, Bob and Richard. The Abassids lived up to expectation, careering around like the Judean People's Front crack suicide squad. There was blood on the mat at the end of every game.
Thanks
Matthew

Last place is usually reserved for Peter Card or me. I think it is me this year.
I will have to bring a more competitive army next year.

Forgot to say thanks to Hammy for organising a great competition and by opponents -= Richard, Matt and Gordon for beating me so well. Gordon prophesized he would beat me before the competition even started.
Must not forget to congratulate David and Lynda for being Grandparents. Kate gave birth Saturday morning to a daughter.

Thanks for all the thanks folks. You may be shocked to find that the room we were playing in did have air conditioning, it just wasn't very good and it was rather hot.
Next year the event will be in a more upmarket venue (the hotel Metropole at the NEC) and I am told by the organisers that they are trying to keep the prices as close to this year's as possible.
I am working away from home for the next couple of days and don't have the right tech with me to upload the full result. They should be up on Wednesday.
FWIW
1st place went to Steve Clarke, 2nd Peter Butler and 3rd David Fairhurst. Best painted army (actually two armies) went to Matt Standen.
There were indeed prizes which were provided by Magister Militum. I have the ones for Steve and Peter and will look to get the m to the club ASAP. The prize for Matt will be posted to him by the Expo team
