Seems a bit arbitrary. Japanese,1592 but there are quite afew non Europeans that would be ruledout

The aim was to focus the period on the earlier armies that are seen as uncompetitive once some of the later technology kicks in. The specific exclusions are to deal with any anomalies in the lists, such as the Early Danish who seem to get access to mounted troops with Impact Pistols much earlier than anyone else.

Don''t throw them away, you may be able to use them in a future competition designed for post 1570 armies without musket or impact pistol capabilities

Hi,

Apologies for the delay. All details are now finalised and the web-site is being updated. In the meantime here are all the details. When the web-site is updated then I will let everyone know.

Kevin can confirm any further details or questions. I thought it important to get the information to everyone given the delays so far.

The periods will be:
15mm, 800pts
o Army lists must be selected from any army from any officially published list dated before 1570AD
o No Battle Troops with Musket, Musket* or Salvo capability
o No mounted troops with Impact Pistol capability

Entries by 3rd June 2012 (although we won't turn anyone away). Cost will be £15. Tea, Coffee and food will be provided at the venue.

If you are not planning on using PayPal then you can send a cheque to BHGS, 28 Poplar Close, Haverhill, Suffolk, CB9 9EJ.

Cheers,

Bruce.

Thank you Bruce.

I'd appreciate lists by 3rd June, although given the short timescale I'll not get too stroppy if they are a bit late.

Cheers,

Kevin

It means you can have Light Foot with Musket, which some armies can have from quite an early date, but not, for example, Medium Foot.

I have reported this.

Roll Call team competition - ringers required!

Posted: Sun May 13, 2012 10:55 pm
by TimChild
Hi guys,

I am trying to organise a team or two for Roll Call. WAR are bringing at least 5-6 DBMM players and 2 Flamers and (as of this evening) 1 DBM. The RC team competition is for teams of 4 in 4 different competitions. We have 1 team, but I am looking for 1-3 ringers (depending upon whether we have sufficient WAR players to justify a third team) to fill up our non-DBMM/Flames spaces and make up teams.

If you fancy joining in (just for fun - WAR teams enter more in hope than expectation!) please could you let me know? Preference would be given to anyone who hasn't yet put their entry in, as I will then put a team entry in for you with the rest of that squad and you can benefit from the £1.25 reduction per player (you can pay me back when we meet up there). However, don't be shy coming forward if you have already thrown your hat in the ring!

Replies on this board, or by private e-mail to t_and_e.child[at]tiscali.co.uk.

Cheers,

Tim

Hi everyone

Time to put the pressure on Kevin re armies and ramp up the excitement, I know army wise there are at least a pair of Tarts, even though I tried to be unique, what other armies are their out their

maybe time to play the guessing game (please note these are all guesses, though I am fairly confident I guessed what I was bringing right)

Don Avis Mughuls
Jim Gibson a difficult one as he occasionally goes for something left side how about Early Imperial austrian
Steve Hammond maybe back to swiss they don't seem to have been out for a long time (that said I've just remembered he's playing napoleonics so thats the first guess wrong
Dave Allen Scots or Elizabethan
Alasdair Harley Tatars (Singles so no paddy so don't have to have any artillery) all horses
Kevin Johnson I know so would be unfair to say
Ben I know so would be unfair to say
Richard Bodley scott I know so would be unfair to say
Simon a hard one to call, me thinks possibly lots of gendarmes it charges and is mad so a Simon sort of army
Charles Ottomans or Mughuls
Andy Kitcher the dark horse, absolutely no idea
Richard Young something from africa, america or the far east
Paddy Bray Very Late Russian (1812)
Dave Parrish Ming Chinese
Martin Van Tol have no idea
Tim Porter French in Italy
Adrian Steer another dark horse so not sure

apologies to all the new players I haven't included

Justs my thoughts

Alasdair

It's a fair cop, guv

You got me bang to rights.

I'll plead to excessive use of Scotch.

I have so far received 17 lists. Once I get confirmation that I'm not expecting any more I will publish R&R, probably when I'm next home this weekend.

There is a very interesting mix, including a number of armies I've not seen used before. This includes mine, so I hope I don't discover it's crap on the Saturday morning! There are also some new players plus a couple of refugees from Fog AM.

Kevin

(Currently in the land of Dave's army)
