When these people are gone, you'll better have something that also looks good or this genre is going through some tough times, because the younger generation of today will often not accept this.
Actually, this genre is geared to the old-timers. When we are gone, there will be no need for graphics in these games because you will still be required to stop and think, and someone that concerned with graphics will have no interest in a game like this.

You are correct when you say that the graphics are sub-standard by comparison to some other games, but like you said, it doesn't change the fact that it is a great game for it's target consumer. Likewise, you can put the coolest graphics in the world into a poorly designed game and all you have is a good-looking piece of crap.

I know you admire the great strategic design of PzC and admire their efforts of better graphics, but I think you are in the minority of the younger generation. (If you are in the younger generation that is). I have a 15 year old that spent 5 hours today cleaning her SIM room, washing SIM dishes, and walking a SIM dog, while dishes sat in our real life sink and the real life dog trashed her real life pigsty of a room. Why? Because her game has better graphics than real life.

Wings wrote:Not everybody might like their style, which is fine, but to claim that it's ugly is just not fair towards this small team (2), because it's a well polished design which is very refreshing when you still have to deal with monstrosities(!) like these that continue to scare away lots of potential newcomers to this genre year in, year out:

How can you chide posters for saying Unity of Command is ugly (which I dont think any one did ) and then make a statement like that about 5 or 6 games that were deep, quality games, well received (and at least one which is a flagship game of the developer) Since you posted something similar on another forum , my only conclusion is you have some beef with Matrix Games.
