This is not a shadow problem, I think, is more about the units icons.
I saw a similar problem in white.

Did it happens in any scenario?, campaign?

All scenarios, all campaigns - snow, desert , green grass.

I've never seen those white effects though..

Looking at your image: are you playing:

Full screen?
How do you get the dock and the BA at the same time in front?
I've just been looking the demo videos on the site and mine doesn't looking anything like as clear or detailed.
I can confirm the demo has the same heavy shadowing.
So it seems a java issue, on Java Preferences did you have:
-Java SE 6 64 bits, and
-Java SE 6 32 bits installed

Do you have an AirBook with same characteristics that mine?

Ah , yes playing full screen. The dock was only there for a moment, when I did a gesture zoom out , then back in.

The Air I have is the off-the-shelf 2011 i5 CPU, Intel hd3000 graphics.

I can play other game like Warcraft fine.

Thanks for the suggestion about Java, I will investigate

Hi guys. This looks like a problem with the Intel graphics chip drivers. As it is a new model of Mac, it probably explains why we haven't seen this issue before.

I will look into it - it might be that I need to do the lighting myself if there isn't an obvious fix (I don't want to have to go buy a $2k Airbook just to test it out ;) ).

Thanks for all the detailed reports guys.

Cheers

Sorry - still looking into it. Driver bugs are very hard to run down, as these new Airbooks seem to be the only ones not playing nice :(.

enric,

Are those white vehicles using Jmass' new skin? If so, he needs to make the DDS have mip maps.

I'm guessing.

Textures with mipmaps ready! http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1613330/unittextures_v1.0.zip
Let me know if they resolve the issue.

Some more pics showing heavy shadowing , especially around vegetation.

The other shot shows the same but rotated a tiny amount and the vehicles look better

As I have stated previously this is a driver bug that only happens in the newest Macs, released after the demo was made. It seems we will need to buy one of these machines to fix it, which is most certainly vexing.

Thanks for the detailed feedback - it may well help us find a way to work around this driver issue.

If any of the guys reporting problems here are willing to help debug the issue with some test versions, then please let me know. There seem to be (as someone mentioned) a number of apps with issues on the Intel chipsets. But no solid info on how to workaround...

Cheers
