Just a quick explanation about the scoring for this tournament - I am going to use the basic LOEG conventions and armies will get 3pts for a win and 1pt for a draw. If armies finish on equal points there will be sudden-death play-offs if the positions on the "Podium of Shame" are affected (i.e. first, second or third).

As with everything else in this daft tournament ( ), the league table has to be portrayed "upside-down" as it were, armies performing badly at the top instead of the bottom.

So, a first look at the positions with just one match from the first batch of games to be completed . . .

......................................P....W....D....L....Pts
1. Bogus Numidians........2....0....0....2....0
2. Skythians....................1....0....0....1....0
3. Papal States...............2....1....0....1....3
3. Later Bulgarians.........2....1....0....1....3
5. Picts............................1....1....0....0....3
6. Khwarazmians............2....2....0....0....6

Next batch: please start asap.

Papal States (frankpowerful) v Khwarazmians (stockwellpete)
Picts (Fedem) v Later Bulgarians (todd645)
Bogus Numidians (batesmotel) v Skythians (TheGrayMouser)

Papal States (Ferb) v Bogus Numidians (raizer)
Picts (zumHeuriger) v Khwarazmians (Cheerfully Insane)
Later Bulgarians (Supervark) v Skythians (raizer)*

*raizer, I have put you down for 2 games in this batch, I hope that is OK. You probably won't get a slot in the last round of (3) matches but you may get another one if there are play-offs.

guys I screwed up. I don't have IF and put down an indian skyth army against supervark. That's the only module I don't have and I really don't want to buy it yet. I could switch sides or have someone else jump in with mick. I looked at the indo skythians and thought-this is not that bad a list lol, now I know why

Don't worry, raizer - if you can swap sides with Supervark for that match then that will be OK. Just one of you let me know that you have swapped and that the game is underway. Cheers.

batesmotel(Skythians) 47/61 - frankpowerful(Early Picts) 73/67

The Skythians with their Greek and Thracian allies got off to an early head start but then the Pictish morale stiffened and it turned into a slog for the second half of the game. The Thracians and Greeks paid heavily for the skythian victory, especially the Thracians while fight heroic Pictish spearmen holding a steep hill on the Pictish right. The Picts fought hard for their claim to be the most naff army!

I don't think either of us saw a draw coming! It was an interesting & fun game, swarms of Numidians everywhere, dropping like flies but wearing my troops down till they succumbed.

I had it but it would gimmie the LOOT! lol. There is nothing worse in a super close game than finally getting your opponent over the rout threshold but you still having to click on those one or 2 F guys of yours still locked in combat.

when you look at it, all these crap list fights should end in draws and then pete would go insane!
