Actually I was just now looking at the game instruction and the section on Force Building is quite adequate and the Force Builder itself is very intuitive. After you play the game for a little while and begin to understand the mechanics, Force Building shouldn’t be an issue.

The biggest challenge is getting the squads to be workable to your style of playing and what weapons / disciplines / uniforms / etc. work the best together. But that is where the fun comes in when building your own forces.

Also I’m sure there will be enough on the forum to pick up a tip here and there on what works and what doesn’t.

I'll be away for some time in the upcoming future, so I might not be around for the actual release either :/ But I hope for some activity on the online servers after release, because I will definitely be around for some games!

Also, we've most likely fixed the issue that made us unable to play together teamgene, so we might have a "re-match" some day :D

Does it make a difference if the game is full screen or in window mode? You can change that setting in the game’s options menu screen – middle column – at the top.

I happen to play on a laptop that is not all that great with graphics and if I have it in window mode, the tutorials work – but in full screen mode they won’t. no idea why that would be like that – but it is for me.

You can also get to them directly. They are in folder ......\Slitherine\Team Assault\Game\Files\Video\

Hello,

A quick reply to the OP:

- The videos are clear and understandable. Only the word "area" is pronounced a bit odd.

Missing basic info:
- an Ammo Dump isn't explained there, I couldn't find it in ingame help either. Some skirmish experience with them gets you updated, but it would be nice to know what they are and how to use them (move right next to it / 'use' it / stay a full round nearby)

Missing advanced info:
- There could be confusion about the "cover" command, as it's not a "move to location X and take cover there" order. Cover isn't that well explained, it's not always clear when a squadmember is / will be in cover.
- You may want to mention in the "movement" video that moving and then firing reduces accuracy, as opposed to firing when standing still.
- Keyboard shortcuts: the help section talks about functions, but doesn't always list which button to click. Eg: "hide icons" is explained, but it doesn't tell you to press keyboard key "h" (which is quite handy!).

*edit*
re: madasaskaven

I've had the same issue. Launching the files manually (see Xerkis' post) works, starting from windowed does seem to work too.

No problem Laxen and madasaskaven, I'll provide more feedback as I learn the game. It's too early to really see what the developers intended and how that translates to user experience, but I'd be glad to be of assistance when the time comes.
Now to find some more MP opponents would be nice... Thinking of buying this game for my brothers' b-day, that could make the both of us happy :p
