We will be running two events for Fall-In using Field of Glory Renaissance rules.
New players welcome!
Friday
An 800 point 15mm Open Tournament
three rounds, 9am-12:30pm 1pm-4:30pm and 6pm-9:30pm
If players want to use a 25mm version of their army and the opponent also has 25mm figures, a 650 pt game may be played in lieu of the 15mm game.
1st round opponents will be historical match ups as far as possible.
Saturday
An 800 point 15mm Theme Tournament Clash of Empires 1500-1630
Allowed armies are any from the Clash of Empires book plus the Transylvanian Army from the Wars of Religion book
three rounds, 9am-12:30pm 1pm-4:30pm and 6pm-9:30pm
If players want to use a 25mm version of their army and the opponent also has 25mm figures, a 650 pt game may be played in lieu of the 15mm game.
Special Rules (both events): Any army which includes Swiss or Landsknects must deploy them as Keils to be in a legal formation unless playing a non-historical opponent who's army list
has more mounted bases than heavy and medium foot bases.

Bob,
Thank you for the change of heart, sorry if you felt they were personal attacks on you rather than on the decision.
As for the keils, presumably we can apply the new ruling as per the thread currently running on here to all keils and not just the Swiss & landsknechts ?
Cheers

You have the added beauty of watching Scrumpy show up with a D&G army and then lose three times.

Only if he rigs the draw so I don't play Kevin, Walt or you.....

your first round opponent will be a historical match-up, or as close to it as possible.

If a list would have Pike troops which in their own period fought in Keils, then they would stay in Keils unless facing an army with more mounted stands than med/hvy foot stands. So if you have your Austrian Imperialists (who do have Landsknects) and you face an army like the white Sheep Turcomans, I won't hold you to Keils as I figure a general has to adapt tactics to their opponents. On the other hand, if you face Kevin Swanson's Italian War Venetians, you should be held to historical formations just as he will be.

So we can just assume Kevin loses then?
Except to Paul.

it is about time I let Kevin win one, just to keep him from defecting to Warhammer 40k....

If he has the same sort of luck I had with the Venetians, then it's time to get out the Tau again.

Paul,
In true Renaissance fashion, we Venetians don't get mad, we get even

, and revenge is a dish best served cold.

And if that doesn't work, I'll just have to play Walt

.

I doubt I'm going to Fall In anyway. We can't afford to go to Detroit & see Mary Ann's son this year, so it does not seem right to to go gallavanting around the flesh-pots of Pennsylvania....

Well Fall-In is about one month away, how many people will be playing in the Open and how many are thinking of playing in the Clash of Empires Theme?
Thanks,
Bob

Thanks Dan, Walt says he saw a post on the N Virginia yahoo group. Friday I think we will have a good turnout, however I'm not too sure about Saturday. Where are all our Polish Winged Hussar and Turkish Sipahi players? I know Jim Tobin has Transylvanians, but I don't know if he will play them two days straight!

We had nine people play at least one game at the Open at Fall-In. They are listed below by name and army in order of points/games played.
1) Dan Hazelwood Later German 68/3
2) Kevin Swanson Royalist Scottish 1645 38/3
3) Mike Kelley Later Ottoman 30/3
4) Dave Lamb Later German 28/3
5) Joe DiCamillo Later German 21/3
6) Dave Guinn Early 30YW Swedes 17/2
7) Steve Callahan Early Imperial Spanish 15/3
8] Paul Woolerton Early 17th Century French 14/1
9) Bob Nedwich Later German 9/1
The weather turned nasty on Saturday so I had to scram before round 1 of the Eastern Theme had finished. The convention dissipated as Eastern PA was hit by an early but devastating Nor'Easter which coated the entire region with ice and snow which brought down lots of trees and tree limbs. I was not unusual in that I had no power for just over 48 hours. Hopefully Mike Kelley or someone can give us a report.

The renaissance event scrammed with you. The FOG ancients were made of sturdier stuff and finished the whole day.

There are quite a few Later German armies listed. I assume these were Later TYW German, and not later German States.
