I lost one experienced fighter, and IIRC one or two ground units, but not much more. I had all my tac bombers upgraded to either Me410 or FW190 fighter bombers that can do air attacks, so concentrated my fighters to take out the allied fighter cover, and used those Me410s/FW190Gs to attack bombers. I had two 8,8 flaks as well, but they didn't get much to do against enemy planes since the allies did most of their air attacks elsewhere

On the ground I found Panthers, Jagdpanthers and Tigers, mostly at str 13 did well, I just needed to be careful that they don't get overwhelmed somewhere.

The Brit push towards Paris was rather weak and stopped by a Tiger II with some minor inf/arty assistance. Most allied attacks towards the center and east were rather amateurish, the only really critical part was the (mostly US led) drive southwards.
Once you clear the skies a couple of Strat bombers can be a big help agaisnt that pesky fleet on the left too. I think I lost more from the fleet bombardment than from ground combat.

I played it on Colonel difficulty, and absolutely wiped the invasion clean. There wasn't a point that the outcome was in doubt, although I remember some of my fighters took early heavy losses. I simply withdrew them south.

Otherwise, no problems whatsoever...the quality of the German armor in the game at that time is simply superb.

Sorry for digging up an old post, but is that really true guys?
If you mean this question the answer is of course no it isn't true. Obviously early war units like f.e. PzI and PzII become obsolete in the late period of war but that's just normal.

Back in the time when the statement was made some units or unit classes like the StuGIII and tactical bombers had some issues but it was addressed in a few patches and they are perfectly fine now to the extended where the Stukas dominate early war years.

Some of the unit classes like for example towed anti tank guns are still quite unused in the campaign due to it's defensive nature an the campaign being mostly about offensive but it changes a bit in the DLC campaign with some defensive missions there. Best example is Piatek in the DCL39 where the few auxiliary towed PaKs are godsend.

I'm not sure I could have said it better myself. ;)
