I don't know if I can. But if you wish I can try.
From what I gather is that you aren't able to make you unit shadow have some transparency level. Right?

I think shadows need to be on/off - you can't have graduated shadows. Look at a sample unit in png format. I use Photoshop and as long as you do it right you should be able to edit them.

OK - I found a way to use my Poser 7 outputs with animation shop 3 + GIMP 2 to put out the trancparency png's with the correct shadows. Now I can produce all new units and new terrain tiles very easy.

some trouble with new transport Units:
there is no way to restrict transports to units, or I cant find a way to do it.
if i define a new transport (bicicles or something like that) than i cant restrict the use of that transport to infantry... an 8.8 towed by bikes is a bit strange..
and another problem: cant define new movement types, (hardcodet number of 12 different types?)
if i make a new movement in the movement.pzdat than the log file gives an error if i try to use that movement.
the first problem is solved by simply make 2 units 1 infantry and one bike recon and switch. (move with bikes and fight as infantry) but some restrictions. or make one unit.png for every unit that is able to use bikes and define many new units.
maybe i´m only stupid

Bicycle units should be an infantry pictured on a bicycle Can move one extra hex but are weaker on attack for soft and hard.
They should not be a transport.

Yes thats also my way - I create them to move 5 (H.Balck new unit parameter system on Big maps !!!) - but with bicycle moving sound.

This is also my solution atm
but my problem remains, if i want to define as special transport, like RSO for towed at/ari thats not possible
on PG 2 (PG 3D in Germany

) transports woke a bit different (like auto disembark for light units and an selection of units that work with a special transport)
auto disembark is also something i realy like to see someday, because for infantry and light at/ari this was the way they fight most of the time
an idea i have is to change the infantry units/light at
infantry without transport (slow moving)
mot infantry, wheeled movement on streets/railways etc., but expensive, maybe add an smale truck icon
VERY expansive Grenadiere/mech inf with halftruck movement with new graphics (halftrucks with inf)
but again than i need to make new kinds of movement , since units too strong in my first test, only let them move 1 or 2 hexes shorter than transports and/or the lost of infantry movement cripples them too much
