Absolutely - a pacific setting with a japanese campaign has to come *dream*so for now let us concentrate on more content for Panzer Corps

I always imagined a strategic game via PG to be something like this:boredatwork wrote:SPWW2 is almost adequate for me - the only improvements I would want to see are things that could be easily coded to the existing engine.
If the Devs were really feeling ambitious what I would like to see is an empire building game that uses the PzC mechanics, artwork, and scale but is expanded so that you're controlling an entire country long term, instead a corp/army size force for a brief scenario.
Production, supply, diplomacy, etc. Basically a cross between a much larger Civilization and PG where instead of refighting predictable WW2 scenarios you instead get to fight proper, unpredictable wars over random maps, using WW2 era technology. Basically a WW2 version of the game Civ5 should have been had it not failed misereably.
Than you really should look at Commander: The Great War.this would be where you conduct simple economy, diplomacy etc, transfer units form one army to another, maybe some limited research
have no fear , that one has been in my sites for some time nowlordzimoa wrote:Than you really should look at Commander: The Great War.this would be where you conduct simple economy, diplomacy etc, transfer units form one army to another, maybe some limited research

I thought it was a wrong step in the right direction. For me the result was playable once or twice but nowhere near brilliant.DSWargamer wrote:I take it Boredatwork didn't like Civ VLove it myself.
Watch out, he has SSI on his liscence plate! Next thing he;ll do is talk about remaking Age of Rifles !terrymulijana wrote:IMHO there's already demand for SP remake but pleasing the already existing crowd is a though job. While for PG classic feel is different matters because PG is relatively simple game with quality mindset.
while SP is more complex with it's certain level. For the hardcore wargaming experience there's already TOAW which can be modified on its level of detail.
I mean if you love Panzer Corps and want another classic games like SP to be modernize, perhaps a little support to the game publisher/developer, buying their game and enjoy the play will do. Then perhaps if creating Panzer Corps get the purse full, it'll be good to consider creating modernized SP
PS : it's just my thought, I'm not representing anyone
Works for me just great and I have the GENERAL's edition. I'm also using Vista 64 and no problems whatsoever. You just must not know how to optimize your system or your games. It's never going to run 'correctly' without massive geekskill on your new computer using Windows 7 64. If it does at all, and I have tried all the tricks short of time travel
Agree 100% a pacific setting gets my vote over eastern or north africa.Caveman wrote:Absolutely - a pacific setting with a japanese campaign has to come *dream*so for now let us concentrate on more content for Panzer Corps
The main issue is mouse scroll speed which makes the game a massive aggro fest. Massive jerks in direction suck the fun factor right out.Igorputski wrote:Works for me just great and I have the GENERAL's edition. I'm also using Vista 64 and no problems whatsoever. if only it bring the Lords Of The Ring General, I think the market can be broad enough to expand the existing fan based to the genrecptkremmen wrote:Steel Panthers - No interest in a remake, i prefer Battlefield Academy...
Panzer Corps - Awesome, expand with other operational areas. Funnily enough my favourite easily was Fantasy General. Not because of any love of the subject I just think it was the best done of the series.
Indeed they made a lot of great games in the day. One remake that would be fantastic is Age of Riflesgeneralgonzo wrote:It seems to me there are alot PC wargame veterans here who used to play many SSI titles.
A drema which won´t be come true for me would look like a revival of SSI and its franchises! Many, many good (war)games in some actual engines. A dream......
It's fun to see old veteran from earlier game period gather here. Where back then I was thinking hard why nobody around seems to like my game. Thanks to Slitherine and Lordz for gather us up here.generalgonzo wrote:It seems to me there are alot PC wargame veterans here who used to play many SSI titles.

No, next logical step should be in chronilogical order and that would be PACIFIC CORP.Next logical step is Allied General.
