Does the AI "cheat" (on FM or any difficulty) in combat "random rolls"? Its too much of a coincidence that I am getting worse results than average and AI gets better results...
I would also like some clarification on this, I have just beat the DLC's on General and want a run through on Field Marshall. Can we get a list from Sergeant through to Field Marshall on what is taking place in EACH difficulty level? I think another person mentioned that adding some tool tips in-game to the difficulty levels would be appropriate.

AFAIK the AI does not cheat. The RNG works the same way on each level. The AI thinks better on higher levels (general is the same as FM). playing on FM the only difference is less exp for your units.

I was hoping you got more turns at lower levels of play. :)

EDIT: Just found out that you do get more turns at lower levels of play.

The only difference I noticed on FM was that the AI seemed to be much more aggressive. I didn't notice any change in unit sizes or types but I only played half of the stock campaign on Colonel and everything else on FM.

Because I (like others) just *need* a complete list, here's my take on what i gather from this thread:

Sergeant: enemy units have a -5 strength modifier / player has experience bonuses / some reduced AI ability
Lieutenant: no strength or experience modifiers / some reduced AI ability
Colonel: no strength or experience modifiers / AI plays at an average level
General: no strength or experience modifiers / AI plays to the best of it's ability
Field Marshal: no strength modifiers /player receives a negative experience modifier / AI plays to the best of it's ability

correct?

Look in the Data folder, you will see a file named diff.pzdat.

It will explain the difficulty levels
