It would be good to have an army of lots of Arm spearmen - I am assuming Andy's are protected.

So perhaps an armoured Hoplite version from the aerly period of the classical greek list? I can do the light troops as well I expect.

OK, I will see what I can do for an early Hoplite army then.

OK,

I have looked at the early hoplite list and have to say I don't like it as much as the later one (the support troops in the later list are better IMO). Still in the interests of playtesting are 48 bases of armoured spearmen enough to count as a spear army

I'm taking Scots Irish, which lets you off the hook for "Massed Junk" Hammy. (78 bases of unprotected LF and MF, plus some chariots and Attecotti)

The army list that Richard sent me does not have a list of permitted territories. Am I right in thinking these have not been done yet for all armies and at Leeds we can choose whatever we like? (This army will need some terrain)

They have all been done now, they just weren't done before I sent some people their lists. E-mail me and I will send you an update.

Played my 1st game with the Scots Isles against Early Hoplite last night as it happens. The Highlanders were able to shoot off an armoured cavalry BG and made quite a mess of some Thracians,it took a few bounds but they always had the upper hand,I didn't try them against the spears. The main heavy foot clash looked like it would still be going now but we had to finish. The armoured hoplites were slowly beating my protected spears but losing to the heavy weapon BG's
Looking forward to the weekend to clarify our reading and learn a lot more,
David

yes it does and do you need me to bring them.

How many Spartans? I think I have about 24 real ones and 60 odd other hoplites.
