really, there is no need for them.
Or they could have no Attack Value, only Defensive? I'm not sure if the game mechanics would allow for that to remain something that blocks supplies. Do the normal aircraft have blocking ability? If so, I need to use it. . .

Though potentially a good idea, I don't think recon planes are really necessary. A fighter already has spotting range of two, so that's equal to 18 hexes you can see in addition to the one it occupies. That's quite a spotting range and I use them quite a lot for that purpose.

Or perhaps instead of creating a new class of units, just include a weak air unit in each nation's arsenal that has a low offense/defense value but a higher spoting range. (Pacific General used to do this with the U.S. PBY Catalinas.)

Scout planes have no offense ability. Plus it isn't going to happen.
They wouldn't be worth the prestige to buy one. Not needed unless you have a very large multi-player map.
Planes can spot well now.
Once they have replay working I don't think you even consider scout planes again.
