Damnit. I tried that starting scenario again in the new version at least twice. Failure again, still seems a bit IMPOSSIBLE. Not sure what the scenario designer was thinking.

I too played the campaign in the west 1943 and in Italy I got slaughtered. Not enough prestige, decent equipment such as Panther Tiger etc too expensive. They just filled the game with Churchills and the navy pounded my units. This was on Normal setting. I survived the defeat with only 2 units remaining and hence could not even attempt the next scenario. I think some balancing needs doing. Either more prestige, cheaper unit cost or a reduction in the Allies strength.

I tryed this Camp yesterday, there was enough Prestige to buy several 8,8er, 2 x HE177er and 2 x Fw190a ... i concentradet the air units in Italy, killing the P47 and the P38, meanwhile the Level Bomber sunk the warships on the coast ...

In Scicily i defended primary northern siciliy, that was thougher but ok... takes more time to weaken the Spits with flaks and hunt them down with fighters ... but it works! :)

Only Problem i had, i had not enough prestige to get reinforcement ... thats frustrating ... i ve killed ... ships ... fighters ... bombers and ground units ... but there comes not enough prestige ...

my strategy was to build a defence, let him come and use counter attacks ... with this strategy it takes a lot of time to reconquer the lost Citys ... even if the tide is on the player side you loose cause you cant reeinforce ....

especially on this scen / camp start its vital to gain prestige by killing units!
hope it will implemented in the next version :-)

Yup, I found this change out the hard way. If you have units that need re-inforcement, you are basically F*CKED no matter how hard you fight. It doesn't sound very realistic to me. One would THINK that if you are fighting against the enemy, someone in high-command recognizes the fact that your units need some sort of supply. Supply for armies has been around for thousands of years, it's not something that was just invented last century.

* Note: I mean prestige supply, not bullets & fuel here.

Anyhow, the question is.... DID YOU MANAGE TO WIN THAT SCENARIO! :P

Not enough time to try it yesterday ... it was too late ... :-(
I will try it this weekend with the new 0.99 Version ...

one question, the german core army in the 43 west campaign ... are all the units completly without experience? Or is my recall wrong? Could be cause i was really tired and it was late ...

Problem is.. German units are too expensive and it is easier to SPAM artillery units.

The cost is so high that the replenishment costs are too high.

If you try to compensate with more prestige per turn to replace tank losses... It is easier to SPAM artillery with other units.

Game is no fun with every army unit having an Artillery piece behind it.

I have seen the same problems in other scenarios.

If units are going to cost allot, perhaps they need to reduce the replacement cost to prevent this.

Right now this makes the game static, where you only get starting units and starting prestige.

After that you have to accept losses as you can not replace them.

A large amount of prestige per turn doesn't work. You just use that large amount to SPAM artilley and other units. Now you are playing a WW I game where every army unit has a heavy artillery piece behind it.

0.99 I even recaptured Tunis!

Difficulty level Colonel. Do note experience is added to game.

Purchased Fw 190A, 3xPanther D, one infantry.

New units have experience also, I consider this a bug and scenario ends with Scenario Finished message which is also a bug.

Conditions are working fine if you do not capture that Tunisian VH.
In the meantime I will look to fix this situation.

Hmm!

Well just when I was able to FINALLY get a victory, I am denied because the game just keeps going on turn after turn despite I already captured all victory hexes.

Seems that scenario has always had it in for me..
