Yes, I know, however is the attack by all three units at the same time? Not just a reduction of ini, but the actual physical attack mechanisim? Or am I misunderstanding the intent?
woo hoo

I think the idea is when a unit has more enemies next to it in assault positions they have to spread their own defenses thinner to cover possible angles of attack.
Honestly I did not know about this feature but I do like it (makes sense to me), however knowing about this I think the AI does not use this functionality at all despite it could really benefit from it.

Yeah this feature in combination with the opportunity to move first and attack later generates a lot of tactical potential.
I am really impressed, and i think that the final PanzerCorps will be much better than PG, and i am a real PG Fan, i've played the Campaigns and modded campaigns of PG nearly 80 times or more!
I cant await to purchase the Final Version.
But i suggest it is necessary to improve the marketing, i didnt read articles in the Gamestar or pcgames. I think tests in this magazines will help to sell more units of PanzerCorps.

I wasn´t aware about the existence of this feature oO so basically it would make sense to first move most of your unit to key positions before attacking. This feature certainly needs more attention!

the big problem now is that the AI moves and attacks with artillery last not first.
They also will move land artillery next to your units.

Personally, I think all units contributing to combat, even mass attackers, should have attack visualizations such as what you might see in defensive fire. It's been argued that it may be 'too much' though.

I think that´s a typical problem in game design, everytime you add a feature the one added before doesn´t work right anymore rofl
edit: kerensky was too fast^^
This might be a problem because everytime you start your actual attack you have to keep in mind every possible attack/counterattack for every participating unit. If I got this right...

That's what she said. Wait a minute.... lol
Mass attack only works for the offense. Each adjacent defending unit doesn't contribute to the battle in any way, with the exception of artillery fire support.

Units that assist in a mass attack don't really attack. They just force the target unit to disperse its strength to deal with a
potential attack, thus weakening it for the actual attack of the selected unit. Playing attack anims would suggest otherwise, including the impression that they are consuming ammunition, which they do not.

Good point, but considering how powerful mass attack is (changing 7-7 battle into a 2-7, try it with P47s and Fw190s you'll see) I still believe 'some' visualization is warranted.

I agree some indication would be helpful and make it easier for new players to understand, it seems a lot of players in this thread did not realize this functionality until someone pointed it out. Maybe a red arrow of intent or a defense icon ( i.e. _|-|_|-|_|-|_ ) on threatened hex side.

Actually the original post should have been sticked.
We have allot more beta testers now.
In fact it is a good idea to now list the changes in each patch.
In fact mandatory if we want to control the configuration of the game.
Why? Because I think we are far enough along to document the changes for all to see and for the team to know what changed.

Just a quick question. Was Mass Attack introduced with the last patch? Like I mentioned before I didn´t noticed this behavior in the 0.96 version.

I first noticed it when the Russian units were first introduced. I forget which BETA that was. 3 or 4?
