A new version of Panzer Corps is available!

New in v0.98
- New game setup UI (+option to load custom scens).
- Multipurpose units. Some units, like german 88mm gun, can perform multiple roles (e. g. anti air and anti tank). Bottom-right button in the 9 button block ("Switch") is used to switch unit between its "roles".
- A bunch of new cool combat effects.
- Fixes in tileset and unit icons. Black hexes should not appear any more. All tutorial scens now have polished maps. Watch out for new german bridge engineer icon!
- Moved/attacked indication. Low fuel/ammo indication.
- New weather icons
- More distinctive golden/silver strength borders. Color of strength number now indicates suppression (white=no suppression, yellow=light suppression, red=heavy suppression).
- Units face each other when fighting.
- A new wave of unit balance changes. AA units should be more useful now. Late scenario balance should be improved.
- A number of bug fixes and internal improvements. The game should no longer leak memory and consume 100% of CPU, and should work smoother.
- Scrolling speed reduced.

I've gotten a 'bad password' error twice on the new beta. I downloaded it a second time to make sure it wasn't an incomplete archive, but no luck yet.

Just use the one from the first post BUT type it manually not copy+paste. copy+paste didn´t worked for me too.

Just to clarify, is there an update function from the launcher, or do we need to download the file? (I'm guessing the latter, just to make sure)

During beta stage each update is only available as a full installer, so yes you have to download & install the whole package again.

Just a quick question: is it possible to load a saved game from v0.96 with v0.98 or are they not compatible?

I loaded my campaign game from 0.96 into 0.98 and it started up ok, but it appears it was converted to 'scenario' in the process and the scenario didnt end either when I captured all the targets, so I think the answer to my question would be 'yes, but...'

Yeah, a new version! I wanted to play the game for several more hours before posting my feedback, but now a new version is out that seems to have fixed most of the issues I experienced. Still downloading the new client, eager to play it

We try to preserve backwards compatibility in every update, but judging by recent reports we have not quite managed it this time. Migration to the new victory condition mechanism means that old saves can have troubles in this area. Sorry guys.

It is always the password posted in the first post of this thread and that changes every new Beta build.

As a strong reminder:

When the new Beta is released later today, please ALWAYS FIRST UN-INSTALL COMPLETELY OLDER BETA BUILDS.

This should be done for every new build, so we avoid cross-bugs or false-positive errors!

As we are closing into the final stages of testing, please remove older games properly from your machine, before installing a new version.

•All scenarios now have maps in scenario selection
•Final batch of changes in game rules and formulas, based on beta feedback

It also does not work for me. I have the following error at the end of extraction (I've tried 3 times):
0 Unexpected end of archive
1 c:\users\MyName\Downloads\PanzerCorpsBeta0.99.rar
2 Fail to control CRC in the encrypted file "PanzerCorpsBeta0.99.rar" Wrong password?

It finaly work if avoiding the "-" from the numerical keyboard

People should just type it in manually... could this please be added in the first post to the download instructions? I mean for 0.99 copy+paste worked for me as well but 0.98 didn´t worked this way
