I'm pretty sure only light troops roll to stand. I have yet to see cavalry evade against orders.

Cavalry always obey orders if you tell them never to evade. Unless Fragmented already ...

Are fragmented lancer cavalry able to evade in FoG TT as they can in FoG TT?

Fragmented lancers may not evade. They just test for being charged while fragmented,

In FoG TT they can evade because they lose their shock status. (I think it was Hammy that pointed this out in some thread.)

Hammy may have pointed it but 100% sure that he is wrong. If you have a rules reference but cavalry with lances are clearly shock troops on page 18 of the rules (Shock Troops) and nothing in cohesion levels (page 24/25) contradicts this. I think you may be getting mixed up with charging without orders where this applies to shock troops unless they are fragmented.

P. 136 in the Reference Section, under Shock Troops:
"They do not count as shock troops while fragmented."

Knowing how rules are often written, perhaps the answer is in the definition of which troops can evade ie it might state only non- lance cavalry can evade??

Chris, Fair point but fairly sure the intention is not to give the evade ability. Will check with Richard. Thanks Keith
