Wars of the Roses English, Yorkist Pretender, 1491AD -..blah blah.. However, there is a saving grace in that it is at least a Yorkist army and not a Lancastrian or Welsh one.
A Yorkist army has a saving grace over Lancastrian or Welsh

Impossible
You two miss the point.
Being a WOTR i can quote shakespeare until my opponents' heads explde.
Being an American and a Pretender I don't need to quote accurately!

That is brilliant. I want to immigrate.
I can't remember the official link for US Immigration... so just google 'one way airfare to Mexico'.
I pity the fool...

I feel sorry for all of you who will have to play meaningless 4th round games on Sunday when all the focus will be on the tables where The Four Horsemen are playing. The mood will be tense and there will be gasps at every die roll as everyone waits to see if one of us will score a point or if our 'perfect' tournament will be complete.... nothing but naughts.
FYI - we will be expecting prize support for making the official score keepers job so easy. He can just use his 25-0 stamp.

A serious question.... ok semi-serious as it would only be relevant to us if a miracle happened and we won a game.
Is the 'swiss-ing' done on a team by team basis or is it player by player and your teams only matter for totalling points and final ranking? (Does team A play team B or will each member of team A play a swiss-d opponent that will be from separate teams?)
Thanks!

Swiss-Pairings after round 1 are by team. Individual scores will be used to rank players in each pool at the end.

The more I look at my Spartan Swarm in the light of day and not hopped up on watching the original 300 Spartans the better it looks! I am guessing not too many people will be able to crack my 23 Spartan BGs.
I formally retract all negative talk... I'm in it to win it baby!

You do realize that the rest of us are only using 800 points, right?

It is my first tournament... I thought sending Nik a fine bottle of Scotch with my army list was just common courtesy. I guess he was half way into it when he got around to my list!

All match ups are by team.
Army Substitution - Foul!

I call foul on the last minute army replacement out of Houston... a bunch of Egyptian pansies that we'd trod under our sandals have been replaced by the only army in HISTORY* to ever defeat the Spartans! I smell collusion to keep down the Spartan Swarm!
If I win initiative can I at least pick Naval terrain and we settle it Salamis-style?
How long can I spend during each of my moves debating which way to commit the Helots?
Are 24 bases of Helots too much power to commit to a single flank march?
*as portrayed in Hollywood films - and really... what else matters?!?

Don't worry Walt will debate it for you, FAR longer than you can imagine. Look forward to seeing you there.

Is anyone planning on doing any gaming on Friday night?
I can't find the note now, but the tournament site is going to be available Friday night as well as some space at Great Hall, right?
Safe Travels everyone!

There are Bill.
The Game store is on the way to the hotel for most of us driving in and for those of you coming from the airport.
It will be a good rally point to catch dinner and head over tothe hotel to get some games in.
It will be great to see Rob's store and drop a few bucks in there too.

After two rounds New England +1 in in first, followed by Asterix and West Coast. Less than ten points separates 1-5. Beltway and New England played in round 2, pulling both back to the pack.

Thanks for taking the time to post Marc - I am awaiting the results with interest

Just wanting to see how much egg I have on my face....
At the moment, not much. But the submarining Arse Bandits may yet win the day...

Ruddock:
In fact, the Beltway Bandits are solidly in first place after three rounds, having given West Coast a thorough beating. We play Asterix in the morning for all the marbles. SMAC and New England are table two, I believe. I remembered more about the current standings before I started in on Steve Payne's bourbon.
