The timer counts down when the game is in your turn. If you run out of time you will lose. There is really no logical way round this and also keeping to schedule.
Tournaments can be organsied to suit specific time zones later on but for now we let anyone in. Turn times are flexible and can be set to anything later on - e.g we coudl ahve a slow burn which ran 1 round every 2 weeks or a fast paced one where 4 rounds ran over a weekend. For testing we use 15 mins player time to complete small games.
Worst case you are in a very different time zone, you should both suffer equally. Nobody gains any benefit really. If someone has time to play a move morning & evening it might improve their chances but that's just life really.

12:00. Server time is GMT-5 so when it says a 7am start it means 12:00 in UK.

Will be interesting to try out. Am not home today until 5 or 6pm (10-11pm England time) so I lose a chunk right there! Will have to be quick then.

First battle finished! Victory for the Caledonians (me

).
Now I must try to get my Romans to put up a good fight too
Is the result reported automatically, by the way?

Check the results page

Just noticed a bug that it only reports score in the top section when you have completed your player 1 game.

Sorry, but i don't get it
My result - 23/37=16
Maximvs - 24/22=9
How is it calculated?

Ah didnt see the question on the calculation.
The forumla is :
Player 1 % = (Player2Losses / (Player1Losses + Player2Losses)) * 100%
Player 1 Score = 25 * Player 1 %
Player 2 Score = 25 - Player 1 score.
If you get a BYE for any reason or your opponent runs out of time or resigns you get 25 points.
Bascially every battle group counts!

Slitherine does
Just start the game and you will see the two games either under "my turn" or "opponents turn"

I don't think your formula is calculating correctly. I have done it manually below. Also your scoring system seems odd as it has potential pitfalls if used to calculate anything other than a mirrored match. Wouldn't it be better to have a single formula that will resolve all results? You already calculate % losses of total army in multi-player matches so why not tie in your scoring system to it.
pantherboy vs cheerfullyinsane (slitherine puts it at 21 to 4 points)
6/22 vs 48/37
Player 1% = (48/(6+48))*100 = 88.88%
Player 1 Score = 25*88.88% = 22 (rounded down)
Player 2 Score = 25-22 = 3
pantherboy vs cheerfullyinsane (slitherine puts it at 17 to 8 points)
20/37 vs 23/22
Player 1% = (23/(20+23))*100 = 53.48%
Player 1 Score = 25*53.48% = 13 (rounded down)
Player 2 Score = 25-13 = 12

I feel that actually winning should count for something.
In the most extreme case a player could win both games and end up with 26pts while the loser of two games gets 24pts.
Sure, the casualties in the games were close but one player won both after all.
Haven't though about an alternative really but lets say 2pts for one win, 5pts for both and 1pts for a draw. Then the points we see now could serve to seperate players in case of a tie.

Something is off with the calculations. And if the formula is correct the losing side can get more points then the winner.
Maximvs32/37 vs hidde22/22
Player 1% = (22/(32+22)*100 =40,74%
Player 1 Score = 25*40,74% = 10
Player 2 Score = 25-10=15
Now, the scoreboard show 14pts to Maximvs and 11 to me which make sense. The conclusion must be that the formula iain posted is not the correct one

The formula is OK as long as it is a mirrored match with identical OB's as you will have a score from playing both sides. But yes it irks me that if one side has a larger force due to inexpensive troops then they will invariably score low points for a victory. A formula should only exist for determining ties and you should be awarded a set number of points for win/loss/draw. Otherwise players will recieve artificially high scores if they play a beginner while two veterans who square off will make it difficult for either to win. Ultimately anyone who can win through to the final round should be the winner irrespective of points. Just imagine if the World Cup for soccer was done by goals for and against rather than being used as a tool to break tied scores.
