Call me a misery guts, but I'm not happy.
Slitherine set a release date and many, many people ordered on that basis.
Caliver are simply not playing the game by jumping the gun.
I do not think I will deal with them for any books in future.

I too think its wrong but I held out for as long as i could. But if its possible to get it in Aus and not here theres something wrong. I don't know whos to blame but caliver seem to be jumping a big gun here, not being in the business did they sign a contract not to supply till release date?

If they didn't, it's Slitherine who f++++d up, and they should at least apologise.
If they did, Slitherine should say so and indicate some sort of sanction for Caliver for future books so that those who do play by the rules - like Amazon - are not financially penalised in future.

Double dang! We're still weeks away here...Sept. 20...and now the dumb hurricane off Nova Scotia might slow delivery down even more!!!

Since when did the delivery date go back till the 20th ? I was told it was the 10th in the USA.

Chapters/Indigo (Canada)...ship date shows Sept. 20...but I suppose I shouldn't complain too much. Last June I ended up with close to $400 in gift certificates from kids in my class, so the rules and list books are free for me.
Maybe they'll ship sooner than that date!

We can only hope they send them by sub so the tropical storms can blow away overhead and our important slitherine shipment can sneak by beneath the waves and arrive here sooner.

I was told by our local shop that their distributors have seena copy, but they would not be delivered to any shops until late September at the earliest. It does seem bizarre that some parts of the world get the books a month earlier than others.

They come by boat - these get to some places earlier than others.

Could be
Got my "item sent" note from Slitherine yesterday (03/09) so allowing the usual transit time from the UK to Downunder it should be here Thursday the 9th or Friday the 10th making a very nice 47th birthday present .

Now I just need Nick to give me advanced notice on when his Essex Swedes go on the market and I can finish off mine

I suspect that you will find it was printed in China or Hong Kong - the boat journey from HK to Sydney is significantly shorter than HK to London or New York.

They are printed in China.
My suspicion is that the ones for the US/Canada are probably shipped from China to UK, and then from UK to US/Canada, which would explain the additional delay.

IIRC, FoGA also was released ahead of time in some locations. So I wasn't really surprised this time. Now if the "Clash Of Empires" list book gets out ahead of time all the better I don't think I can wait till January for the Vasa & Early Gustavian stuff.

My pre-ordered copies of FoGR & "Wars of Religion" arrived safely today, Yippee!

The next to books are on back order. Now to sit back between bus runs and start reading.
