Defending a corner of a fortified enclosure

If the BG defending fortifications counts the front edge of the fortification as its front edge, can it shoot sideways across the fortification covering its side edge? Does a file defending a corner split dice as described in the FAQ for battlewagons if contacted on two sides?

Does a BG have to maintain a legal formation when feeding bases into a melee?

Eg - the BG starts as 4 bases in column. Due to intervening enemy it can only feed 1 base into melee, giving it 3 bases in 1 file and 1 base in the other.

At the moment a fragmented BG eligible to evade can evade pursuing BGs that would contact them before taking the test for being framented. As that is not consistent with the normal rules, a FAQ could clarify if this was intended or not. If not, the wording has to be changed.

Fragmented BG Moves

When must they CMT to make a move (other than moves normally requiring a CMT)

1. If their move does not END further away from all enemy in 12MU
2. If their whole move is not away from all enemy within 12MU

INTERPENETRATION

when you cannot completed your interpenetration ( with the bonus if 2 MU ), you must stay in front of the interpenetrated BG.

this is to cancel any mouvement bonus with a not completed interpenetration.

It made interpenetration easy to resolved.

What is needed for the FAQ here?

IMO Interpentration's Rule is not clear. I need more example and clarrification. And perhaps a modification of the rule with this proposition.

I think rule modifications are going to get short shrift here, we are looking at areas that require clarification.

Whilst the interpenetration move may not please everybody, it is certainly very clear.

Moderator bit:-

Indeed.

Please keep this topic for additions to the FAQ - there is plenty of scope to discuss rule changes in other topic.

[Another mod bit - indeed, I've now removed my demonstation of ignorance on how the forum works, just to keep this focused. Peter]

Is a CMT required for a BG that at any point in its move comes closer to a enemy BG but whose final postion is further away from all enemy BG's than at the start of the move?

In luie of a yes or no please define "Retire from Enemy" in regards to Mid-Move and Final Postions.

Where is the FAQ, by the way? (Might be nice to have a sticky with a link to it here).

I would like to have checked it before listing this because it might already be in there, but does a general provide quality re-rolls to support shooting in the impact phase?

The FAQ is on the Field of Glory Resource page http://www.fieldofglory.com/onthefieldofglory/faq.html

Yes. Support shooting is a form of close combat.

The page 58 bracketed paragraph explanation in the FAQ desperately needs an example as given by rogerq in the rules questions under topic Shock Troop Charge. This was the only way that friends and I finally understood this poorly worded aspect of exemptions for the CMT.

Can a BG expand bases even if the expansion does not add dice to the melle?

Conforming Measurement of 'Shortest Movement"

How do you measure the "Shortest Neccessary Movement" to conform after impact when a Pivot is involved in the movement?
1) Simultaneous Pivot and Movement or
2) Pivot first then movement

Thank You
