Jewish 7100/23 634

Was looking kind of hopeful for a bit but then the army fell apart and the allies did not come through as hoped.
Covneantors retreat home and leave an olive branch of peace on the battlefield, need some more practice with this army.

I hear you, Covenator.
I am playing the same in several battles right now. Only just started in most but in the one that gone some turns after fighting started the future doesn't seem too bright
Maybe we should form an alliance and teach each other from our mistakes :P

Ive been playing the game for quite a while but this is only the 3rd time I have had this army out so it takes a while to figure a good build and how to use it. I think I had too many lights and bows for Romans things to keep in mind for future battles.

I was checking out the new features that SOA will bring into the main game, a lot of big changes that could really change the way one plays, the biggest appears to be undilled lights and how they can cant reface...
Begs the question: squeeze in a couple more wars in the old familiar way or wait until the new way of conducting combat is clear (and so one can get some practic in!)

All skirmishers should behave the same whether drilled or undrilled. If this is not the case in the latest SoA drop, it needs to be fixed. (Already posted this question and suggestion in the beta forum.) Being drilled vs undrilled should really only affect formed troops, not skirmishers.

My recommendation would be to go ahead and fight remaining Spring battles as is and worry about the SoA changes for the Summer season and there on out.

Gotcha, looks like I'll just have to wait ( the implication in the latest build notes seemed to imply that lights would only be able to shoot from their end of movement arc, which really would be a big change.... must have read too much into it)
