I have beaten the Persians vs the ai (doudt I could vs a human)

The key is that Alexender did NOT roll up the Persian left flank, how could he , he was outnumbered 10-1 in cavalry in that sector, What he did do is eschalon his cavalry on the right way from the Persians, the Persians kept extending their battle line to the left to try and out flank Alex's right... Eventually a large gap opened in the Persian lines in the left center (between the persian Cavalry and Infantyr)
Alex charged into the gap wit his household cavalry and the phalanx followed.....

I used this tactic vs the ai and it worked out pretty close to the actual battle

I'll give it a try against the AI and see how I get on. I'm guessing it will be tough holding the flanks without the Companions.

One thing that happened early in my game was the AI was very agresive with his light cavalry but not so much with his heavies... Very early in I was able to cut off about 15 bg's of lights and destroy then before the AI sent his heavies into range/support
Put a 30 point dent in the 102? bps the Persians have

Mouser as you suggested used those tactics and got a victory hurrah. If only humans were so obliging. I'll try it on a human opponent and let you know. Thanks.

I cant even imagine beating a human vs that horde !
Especially as there are so many good quality Persian Units that the Ai just doesnt use that well
I notice that the AI just doesnt like to use his Scythed chariots very agressively either (have seen this is several scenarios) These, if used early in th battle could really be a problem for the Greeks....
Cheers!

Usually the Scythed Chariots are just shuffled around by the AI. One of them got a parking ticket in my last battle. :D
