I know that but have wrongly assumed you only got positive POA's if you were fresh into a combat. My bad.

I think it's assumed Lancers etc. countercharge to some extent. Even if already in combat, not everyone would actually be in close combat. So whoever is free, countercharges when a fresh enemy attacks.

I guess we shouldn't think of an in-game unit as one amorphous mob, but several mutually supporting smaller units. Except in the case of 'Mobs'. :wink: But those suck accordingly...
