Jinetes 2BG x 6b .(LH, protected, average, drilled, javelins, light spear)
Light artillery 2Bg x 2b
Arquebusiers 2BG x8b (MF, unprot. Average, drilled, firearm*, swordsmen)
Sword and bucker men. 2BG x6b.(MF, armored, superior, drilled, s. swordsmen)
Pike 2BG (HF, protected, average, drilled ,pike)
Spanish men-at-arms 1BG 4b (CAV, armored, average, drilled, lancers, swordsmen)
Crossbowmen 1BG x8b (LF, unprotected, average, drilled, crossbow)
1 Inspired commander (obvious!) 1Field commander, 1 troop commander.

Thanks to you all for your suggestions. I will base the arquebusiers on a provisional way as I hope that I can use the army also for FOGR (any tip here?). Crossbowmen and the Spanish men-at-arms are here on provisional basis to complete the 800pts (like the 13th FF!). (*With great regret I’m trying to forget now all about those Spanish secret weapons!)

Any special reasons to field them in 6's? Given the low range of javelins 4's might work better (not to mention it increases their manoeuvrability).

FoG:R MF is 3-4 Minis on 40X20mm bases, so the same as in FoG:AM.
The Pikes are more a deciding point. You can use them on the normal 40X15 bases from FoG:AM, but the recommended size for HF in FoG:R is 40x20.
(All assuming 15mm of course.)

i would be tempted to put the swordsmen in 4's too. Especially as all thier precursors can do that.

I agree that LH goes better in BG of 4b. The reason I put them in two 6b BG is that I have they so based and painted. One BG for Old glory the other for Redoubt Enterprises, and they don’t fit well together (I have the same problem with the Stradiots ) . The idea or making the Swordsmen in 4’s is interesting and that can still be arranged. At first I made my BG’s big , but now I’m moving to small ones. The army is in 28mm. Hope in 28mm the pikemen could be used for Renaissance . (I have already 9BG of pikemen, based and painted –Italians, Swiss and Spanish and soon to begin with the Germans !) For the pikemen I put 3fig per base for HF, because some of them (e. g. Front rank) are too big for a base of 60mm x 20mm so the base should be a minor problem in any case . Thanks you both for the ideas.

If you want to play with an army commanded by Gonzalo, you can use the Santa Hermandad, altought this list only cover the armies in Spain until 1497.

The Italian wars are covered by FOGR, there is a list that cover the armies up to Charles V, covering the Italian wars and the Great captain Army.

I think you have based your army in the Ordinnace of 1493 with the "Guardias de Castilla".

You must Know that the infantry in the early Italian wars was composed by pikemen and spearmen, after the 1497 ordinnace the most of the heavy foot are armed with pikes.

Yes. I think that the force that Gonzalo takes to Italy was made up around the “Guardias viejas de Castilla” and that this and the associated “Guarda de la costa de Granada” should give the tone of the Army. For here comes the idea of making a list to cover the period. It proved to be a tricky matter. The problem is to try to make a list for an army that seems to have change quickly in a very short time. At first the idea was to refight the first battle of Seminara as an epilogue to our Charles VIII campaign. Apart for Seminara and the obscure fight of Laino (and not only because it was a night combat) the rest of the campaign was made of sieges, so not much can be derived from it; apart that Gonzalo feel his army inferior in the open to the French. But that could be not only because he lacks the correct troops but also the correct numbers. Both things, probably. That at first he has few pikemen and arquebusiers seems clear because that were the troops he later demanded from Germany. I think it will be better to come back to the original idea and instead of make a list for the campaign, make an specific scenario one for Seminara with a bulk of Italians (from the Naples/Italian list), supported by a Spanish contingent formed of Jinetes with some light Spanish men at arms and Spanish swordsmen. The battle seems to have been a cavalry affair and so more in the line of the classical condotta armies’ actions. The infantry play a secondary role with only the Spanish sword and buckler men making some impression in the witness. After that, wait (patiently) for FOGR. (I have it in amazon pre-order). As you said, this army, change a lot in a few time, you can look three main ordinnances for the army organization, 1493, 1497 and 1503. And I can read up to here
