I voted "no, wait until it's finished", I don't mind waiting two weeks or whatever it will take, but i'd rather have a finished game than a glorified demo/beta.

Just my two cents, of course :)

I vote for option 2, of course. Good things best than half good things .

Cheers

Option 1

I'd rather be able to putter on a "glorified beta" than nothing :)

I vote for option 2. It's only a couple more weeks. It seems much simpler to just get it all in one package.

can wait..

Prefer wait, dont like have an expansion in version 0.9, one thing is a patch repairing bugs and other a patch adding the features missing in the release.

PD: if finally the expansion is out in 2 weeks at least talk about it and post some screenshoots, i know some people who dont buy the game because information about it is ZERO.

Well , just release it and let the player decide

Those who wish to wait can always download and keep it or ( don't download and wait for the final version)

For those who want it badly like me can enjoy ourself this weekend

So everyone is happy :D :D

( It is just something like a Beta Release looking for Play Tester )

I think what papajack just posted makes a lot of sense.

Except it is often the case that each add-on brings with it unforeseen bugs that often impact on areas of the gameplay to which they are not directly related. This may not be the case here, but in general I'd say the fewer add-ons (in quick succession) the better.

It's only a week or two anyway.

No worries on that

Just let us who want to play this earlier , enjoy the game

And then when the Final Version ready , we all just uninstall the "earlier expansion" and download the FINAL Version

Cheers ..Army Builder...I must try this weekend , let's build our dream army and fight it over...someone must organize an arena for this battles

If we upgrade everyone has to upgrade as the server will need to be updated.

Better would be to wait and take the time to create what is missing, and to improve the oob editor in addition. To refuse to give players option (play as tabletoprules or play "free", with hability to make heavy changes in order of battle editor : move capacity, combination of weapons,etc...) will block future modding work, and it is never good for a PC game.

Meaning that once the Final Version is ready , the earlier expansion will be consider "out of date "

So to continue playing the expansion in multi player , you need to install the new version

This is no different from the usual updating your game to the latest version to enable multi player compability

Just my last minute efforts to get the game release this weekend !!

Now I see the problem a little clearer. While I am anxious to get my hands on the update, I wouldn't want to wreck people playing multiplayer games. I didn't really see a down side to releasing it early, till you said everyone had to upgrade. As it includes the server changes, I can now see why people would want to wait.

I think we're going to hold it back and make sure we don't break anything.

If anyone who pre-ordered RoR wants to beta test it over the weekend send us your pre-order recepit and username and we'll get a few of you set up. Mail it to info@slitherine.co.uk ASAP!

You have 2 hours to let us know if you want it!

You must be the only computer game company in the world that has such an enlightened attitude. Thankyou.
