While I sent a comment on the web site, I figured I would also mention to you that it would be nice if there was an obvious link to join on the home page. I eventually found it under Store but it wasn't the obvious place to me to look for it.
Chris, the big animation on the home page, which ends in the big letters "join now for 2010", links to the relevant store page (once it completes). I'll have a think about putting something more obvious in however.

I confess that I tend to filter out animations when I'm looking for something specific on a page so I may well not have waited for it to finish or else blocked it out if it did. It's a busy enough page that I was just skimming around looking for an obvious link and there wasn't anything in the site map either.

I would be interested in paired 400 point games.
How do you want to do paired 400 point DAG games? Two games with the same armies, two games with different armies, two games with each player generating a list for a nationality, e.g. my Bosporan list versus your Parthian list and then your Bosporan list versus my Parthian one?
Chris
Well, apart from not wanting to play against Bosporans at all

I think the last idea on your list is the best: Play the same two nationalities of list against each other both ways, but each player can choose his own version of each list.

Sounds good to me - I'll accept a challenge Richard.

I'm willing to take a challenge in this format as well with either Richard or Peter (even if Richard doesn't want a rematch with my Bosporans ).

It sounds like there are a few old timers around - I was 13 in 1971 when I joined the SoA - How I remember the endless debates about whether Huns should cause -1 to morale in the WRG rules! Unfortunately I never renewed my membership beyond 1975, but I will certainly look into rejoining.

Bates & Big - please let me know once you're sent your membership in & I'll add you to the list of elegible players.
I started with WRG 5th & still play with them occasionally!

Will happily run out my Pontics against both of you 400 points. (I can't even complain about Bosporans as they are historical opponents). Then we play the armies the other way round. (Though we each choose our own tailored version).
I will post up two challenges, one for each of you. Password = Jabberwocky.

Hmm, I forgot to check the Password protected box, so I will be playing 3 games with my Pontics.
Have correctly added 2 password protected challenges now, one for each of you.

Hi Richard
If you fancy a pontic civil war, that is my favourite army as well. Alan

Sure, why not. Pick a Jabberwocky protected game.

Flummoxed by the lower case "j".

Well done Alan - you're found his weak spot - now all we need is a lower case army.

I have my Pontic counter challenge up for you with the same password.

OK. I am a bit busy today - when I can make time I will work out a Bosporan army and start the game.

Anyone else in SOA and fancy a pair of championship games?

To post the results of a game goto
www.soa.org.uk & click on the Championship link towards the bottom right. You need both players membership numbers to do this.
Have fun.
