You're right with that comment. When does a person's opinion stop and trolling start? If you don't like the game, move on!
Umm I don't believe you are a moderator here and thus have no power or credibility as far as what anyone can post and for how long. Why don't you move along yourself TROLLS?! That's what you are because at least I talk about the game until trolls like you two come around trying to start and cause trouble.

I also paid for the game so I'll talk about it as much as I want to...got that? Good now move along Trolls.
You come into Slitherine's House and tell them their "KID" is ugly and we are the Trolls? Yeah Right!!!! But they don't need me to defend them.

I think everyone is losing perspective here.

I dont think that this game is very historically accurate - not the PC version nor the FOG ruleset. That said I play both regularly and have a great time doing so. FOG on the PC is currently, in my opinion, the best game from a ancient perspective out there.

Its not historical, I accept, but it tries and its great fun (the same can be said for the tabel top version) - if you are a table top wargamer then DBMM is better but uglier, not as popular and you need someone to interpret the rules every now and again. I play far more FOG on TT than DBMM.

I think the better thing to do is accept the game for what it is, try to make constructuve critisism to improve where possible and then work within the tactical limitations. Just because it isnt accurate historically doesnt make it tactical and requires skill to win.

THose who are better skilled and make best use of troops, deployment and terrain will win despite oddities like Cavalry beating Ellies etc.

That said I do have one minor dispute with you - Spear, steady foot and Pike should be able to occaisionally beat up elephants. I cant think of the historicall precendence for this but if challenged can bring up an example I recall from distant memory (I may need to do a little research to get this done).

Have fun everyone and have a very merry Xmas.

I think thanks to the team who created FOG in both formats its a great game.

It's ironic someone's modus operandi is the same everywhere that person goes, the same pattern repeats itself. Ironic because an intelligent person at same point would wake up and say hey! maybe I'm doing something wrong instead of pointing fingers at everyone else.

If there is much more of the personal tit for tat I will just close the thread. Sometimes it makes the community better to be the bigger person and just let things drop.

Cheers
