I'll look in to this - you may be able to retain your serial number, this is the key thing. There is no way to return serials so if we can handle this we'll be able to do that.

Do you know what screen resoltuion your VM desktop is running at and does it all fit on your actual screen? I assume you are running the game full screen in Windows.gudin wrote:Thanks. Considering you are doing a Mac version, will it be possible to exchange this for that once it's available?
That being said, I think it is strange that there is this issue, considering all the other windows apps I have run on my windows desktop with no issues, though I don't have all that many, as I clearly prefer the mac.

I've tried it in it's own window (the Windows environment is a window on the Mac), in the Unity environment (acts as an application running within the Mac OS), and full screen. I'm running on a Macbook Pro 17 in, so the display is 1680 x 1050, but in general in full screen it should change the resolution to match the app's requirements.batesmotel wrote:Do you know what screen resoltuion your VM desktop is running at and does it all fit on your actual screen? As far as I can tell, the game does not specify a resolution to run at, just picks up your current setting. I'm running at 1440x900 and don't have any problems but I wouldn't expect it to be an issue at 1680x1050. If there is any Window "decoration" at the top of your VM screen you might need to turn that off if you can to see the top bar. (I've used VMWare workstation and I beleive it has a mode where it can optionally show a VMWare title bar with some controls at the top of the VM screen and I would expect that if you have something similar to that for your VM it might be obscuring the top bar.gudin wrote:I've tried it in it's own window (the Windows environment is a window on the Mac), in the Unity environment (acts as an application running within the Mac OS), and full screen. Thanks. I'll take a look at that tonight or tomorrow night. I've been able to play with some of the basic keyboard commands I can figure out, but an actual list would obviously help a great deal.batesmotel wrote:As far as I can tell, the game does not specify a resolution to run at, just picks up your current setting. Might be worth setting your Windows desktop to a lower resolution to see if makes any difference. I assume you've loooked at the screen shots on the Slitherine site that show the game so you can see what the top bar should look like. http://slitherine.com/games/fog_pc
Alternatively, if you check the help file for the game there are keyboard short cuts listed there that I think will provide the same functionality.

Sounds likely. As I mentioned, when I turned off mirrored folders, I was able to play without that error, and finished a number of games. Unfortunately, that was with no toolbar, and just using the "e key to end the turn. I was not able to figure out how to quit to the main menu at the end of the game, so I selected it from the task bar and told the game to close, then re-opened each time. Not ideal.keithmartinsmith wrote:A but I think the problem is more likely to be the kind of installation of VM has been used and if there are any file acces restrictions or not.

What type of installation SHOULD be done?keithmartinsmith wrote:A but I think the problem is more likely to be the kind of installation of VM has been used and if there are any file acces restrictions or not.
