That's a much better army list than the original one you posted. You've discovered that knights are very tough and you don't need them in 6s.
1000 pts on a 6' table is a bit unfair for the shooty cav army though. You should have a bigger table if you want to play at that points level. Why play so many points anyway when you are (presumably) still learning the game ?

We normaly play 800pts but for medieval armies we up it to 1000 because of the point cost and how small some of the armies are. We need biggish armies as the games have 5 players somtimes 6 and it keeps everyone fairly active. For 800pts i'd get rid of 1 unit of knights and keep the rest pretty much the same so their wouldn't realy be more room on the crusader side. For this game we had 2 crusader players and 3 byzantine and everyone was kept busy and had a fun evening.
Despite the crusader army being small, when deployed in a single battle line with small gaps between units it covers most of the width of the table. Get some rough or difficult terrain on at least one flank hopefully both then the army is unlikely to be out flanked. If the units absorb the shooting then the army can advance pushing everything in front of it, which is what happened. The downside is you don't get any rear support and if a unit breaks then gaps appear, fortunately this time that didn't happen. I haven't used the late crusader against a non skirmisher army yet, so i'll have to wait and see how that works out.
Still learning but not a novice. Were completing 800pt games in around 4 hours.
Here is my attempt

Sorry to commit thread necormancy.
However I am working on the same list:
1 IC
1 TC
1 Bedouin TC
4 LH Bedouin
4 LH Bedouin
4 LH Bedouin
4 LH Bedouin
4 Bedouin bow
4 Drilled Knights
4 knights
4 knights
4 knights (although I may have mistaken and I'm not remembering the list properly)
6 spear
6 spear
6 drilled crossbow
so 12 Bgs isn't so bad and you get some decent skirmishers to protect your knights' flanks.
I would prefer the syrian state allies with their mobs and bow armed LH. Unfortuately, I cannot make that ally work (point wise)
