principes romanes (Gallic) defeats Bagatrix (Thracian (Getae)) 59-32

The Thracian side of the map had a large hill. My gallic infantry massed to charge up hill, with my strongest units lined up where the hill was least steep. The centre of my line crumbled ascending the steepest part of the hill, but I won decisively on both flanks, and I was able to descend on the victorious Thracians in the centre of the line from two sides, despite a bit of Thracian cavalry threatening to make a nuisance of itself.

In this match, my centre crumbled and the Gauls forced their way up onto the main hill in the middle of the battlefield. I won on my left and was able to flank the victorious gallic warbands more quickly than they could find new targets.

rockmanbob123 (Austrians) defeated CaptainwaterSavage (Ghibellines) 50-24

The Austrians put their mounted knights on their left with dismounted knights on the right. The Ghibelline knights attacked the dismounted knights while the Austrians attacked the mixed spear and missile infantry on the Ghibelline right. The valiant Austrian dismounted knights took many casualties but the line held long enough for the Ghibelline right to collapse allowing the Austrians to roll up the line and get the rout.

CaptainwaterSavage(Austrians) defeated rockmanbob123 (Ghibellines) 62-59

In a very close and suspenseful battle with several twist and turns, the Austrians outlasted the Ghibellines and got the win.
