Dave - you are right, this list would not be good for a competition.

Was it just a practice then - I am still trying to find a Medieval French army I am entirely happy with!
I had not though of average knights. If you intended to dismount would they be better in sixes?

Yes it was just a practice for someone using HYW English - I just took a historical opponent.
Probably would be better in sixes, though the BG count drops rather quickly.
Doubt I will be using it in competition any time soon - too many other things to try (like a kiddy in a sweet shop

 ).
I did use MF in competition under DBM once partnering the late John Sampson and we won - I remember John skirmishing with a couple of Irr Kn(S) since we had nothing else to do it with! A sight to behold - John could not stop himself skirmishing!!

This is a list that I knocked up sometime back (although the intent was more to reproduce the army at Verneuil than to produce a perfect list)
2 French TCs
4 Superior Knights
6 Average Knights (for dismounted use)
6 Average Knights (for dismounted use)
6 Poor Drilled French Crossbow
6 Average Drilled Genoese Crossbow
6 Brigans
4 Mercenary Knights (Lombards)
1 Scots TC
8 Scots armoured MAA
8 Scots Protected Average longbowmen
8 Scots Protected Average longbowmen
If only the Scots Continental allied contingent would provide troops that would fight to the death like the Tyneman's army did at Verneuil then this could be close to a respectable build.

Unfortunately a glorious if ultimately futile sacrifice.
