My version of PC2 supports resolutions above 1024x768. I wonder how PAT managed to ship u the "blockgrafics"-version without anyone noticing? :)

I would note that for the Retina display Macs, screen resolution can get very complicated, with display resolution being different from screen resolution.
I only noticed when playing around with PzC2, and ended up not being able to read anything from too small fonts.

A bit of age;
PzC2 scales fine, but desktop and Apple Menus get too small.

That's why i referenced this "issue-matter" year's ago!. So!... why-not design an application where-by the 'Player' can 'Scale-Up' or 'Zoom-Up' the size of this document information... so that it can be easily read. How difficult can that be?.

What, the whole Pacific?!
LOL No. We cancelled one Pacific project because the navel aspect it relied on couldn't be made good enough to sell.

No where have we said we're not going to make other Pacific DLC.

Makes sense, naval combat would require a significant revamp. I think a grand campaign that follows MacArthur's path from The Philippines to New Guinea (with a layover in Australia) back to the Philippines, to the Japanese surrender on the Missouri would be great. It would not require a lot of Naval combat (aside from PTs busting barges and Kenney's kids skip bombing freighters, both of which could work fine with the current naval combat system).

A Japanese land campaign, focusing on the fall of Korea, Malyaya, HK, Singapore, and culminating in desperately trying to hold China and Burma, could also be awesome, and would require very little naval combat (again mostly bombing stuff from the air).

I'm playing Frontline: Bulge now. I like the Frontline concept a lot. Bulge has been done to death but most games I've played either focus on the whole campaign as one big map, or get very granular and focus o small unit actions. Being able to specifically play a scenario that's JUST Elsenborn Ridge (for example) is good.

Frontline has a lot of possibilities. I'd be particularly keen on some North Africa frontlines: First and Second El Alamein could be pretty awesome, especially if you have some flexibility as the British (for example, if you think Monty was too cautious and want to charge ahead, go ahead and try it... and probably get slaughtered LOL. Brevity/Battleaxe and Crusader would also be fun, and Tobruk, from the German side. Slim's Burma campaign would be awesome as a Frontline DLC. A few people have mentioned Finland, there are several possibilities there.

Not having seen the actual War Stories yet, I don't have an impression of how that'd work, but being able have characters like Sosabowski, Skalski and Zumbach find their way to the UK for later campaigns, along the lines of AO, would be awesome. Continuity is what sets Panzer Corps apart from most games, I'd like more of it!

I hope we've learned our lesson and don't announce anything about anything until at least the beta is ready to start.

Would it trouble you too much to spend a day or two to recompile the iPad version of Panzer Corps 1 and put it in the Mac App Store? Literally the only thing it needs is support for screen resolutions above 1024x768. Is that too much to ask?
I can't see us releasing on or supporting Apple again in the foreseeable future, but its not my call.

And for the record, I co-founded an iOS studio back in the day, making wargames specifically for iPad. It would take a lot more than a day or two and would more than quadruple the file size to create all the graphics required for 2x and 3x to a good enough quality ( you can't just stick them through an AI upscaler ). We would then also be expected to partake of and support the Apple ecosystem and provide continued support for the game.

P
I'm not sure what you're saying? The existing iPad game can run on Apple Silicon Macs as is, with a recompile. That requires essentially zero effort.

As for supporting higher resolutions, that doesn't require larger graphics- what we want is to be able to see twice as many hexes on a screen twice as big, not for the units to be twice as detailed. The art is fine as is.

Is that running on a modern Apple Silicon Mac? If so, what version of the game is it- the iPad version or the Mac port that was briefly in the App Store?

PzC2 runs with the Steam version for Mac Air M2. As well as MacBook Pro M3, and Mac Studio M1.
ActivityMonitor shows RAM use at 10G.

Have not managed to get a Slitherline install to work, installs but crashes on Scenario start up.

PzC1 runs the PC version on all 3 of my Apple Silicon Macs from a Slitherline install.
My first PzC1 install was using Steam.
When I tried PzC2 in Steam, PzC1 Steam stopped working.
To play both on Steam would require two separate 'Wine Bottle' installs.

I used the latest ThePortingKit 'Steambuild 32 64bit Metal' port to install Steam[PC version].

ThePortingKit uses Wineskin, with Paulthetall creating specific ports for various games.
Many of the game ports appear to be sponsored by GOG, example PzC1.

I don't know of any Wine builds for iOS, the easiest way for such ports.

@DALFREDE:

I am running an M2 Pro with latest Sonoma OS, the game is listed in my Steam library but can`t be launched.
Any recommendations?
Thanx-a-lot.

Are you attempting to play PzC2 on [Mac]Steam ?
I am using ThePortingKit, which uses Wineskin to run [PC]Steam.

Via Steam or the installation of the original Slitherine store files if this works...
Any recommendations?

Looking at 'Activity Monitor' PzC2 uses 10G of RAM.
Post any new questions at the link above.

That was not yet announced. My bet is on something related to Africa/Italy for a change of scenery.

I would like another German DLC.
This could be Operation Spring Awakening.
In this DLC, the Germans successfully completed the operation
As a Hungarian, I really want such a DLC
Or if it wasn't for this DLC, a standalone scenario would also be good, on a large map.
Detailed map on which we occupy all the premises designated as targets by the Germans
For example, Budapest, Mohács, Dunapentele, etc. There are a few more such locations that were also included in Operation Spring Awakening.
I really liked the Spring Awakening map in the Axis Operation 45 DLC.
I could imagine a similar map, but with the missing places added. Budapest, Mohács and the rest.
