Forget the animations. Just find nice 3d models. Make it a P&S successor.
So it is the next Sengoku Jidai of the franchise ?
Not a fan of fantasy/SF. But, hey ! to each his own, isn't it ?
Keep on the good work. Good luck.

We will see about models, but it might be more work than is possible. I do think that overall the placeholders are fine, especially now that there are banners.

Heh highly doubt it, given that the Tolkien Estate tends to demand a very high price for licensing.

Open the game as usual. For single player custom battles, there is a square button with nested folders to the right of the 'Open Battle' button, select that and then select the mod. For multiplayer, when you create a skirmish, use the same button to select the module.
However, just FYI a substantially updated version will be coming within the next few days.

The mod has been updated to version 1.1. Many thanks to kronenblatt for his assistance and hard work on coding and banners. Thanks to Fourth Age Total War team for letting me plunder some of their names lists.
New additions:
1) Banners
2) Named generals
3) Nazgul unit - currently inflicts a -1 to all CTs taken by enemy units within 2 squares. Both the degree of CT malus and distance can be adjusted if testing shows that to be necessary.
4) Added Light Spear to all Dwarven units, at a cost of 3pts.
5) Minor unit quantity and quality adjustments.
6) Minor unit naming changes.
7) Mechanics explanations in-game for those lists that have non-vanilla mechanics.
Future plans -
I will be working on adding additional army lists, from earlier in the Third Age and possibly from the early Fourth Age.

I cannot join your matches - but I can join Lennard's. Are you sure you didn't extract the campaign version into the MP folder? The two downloads are different.

Looks nice! I see you have the banner of Elendil for Gondor as well as the Host of the West? Always thought it looks better than plain white, and can't be confused with routing units either.
Looks like the escort baggage train mission is broken somehow. No carts spawn, so you autowin.

Yup, the plain white would be correct but sometimes these things must bend for aesthetics. Thanks for letting me know about the carts, should be a simple fix for next version. I never play that scenario or campaigns so hadn't caught it.

See the bottom of the OP for a quick fix, SP only. It will be included in 1.2.

Hello,
Thank you for this very good mod.
I am having a lot of fun and it already has some middle earth flavor even without accurate models.
I tried some matchups and it seems that Rohan is weaker than Isengard and Gondor is weaker than Mordor (I played the matchups both ways to be sure).
I am not good enough with the game and rules to propose modifications of the lists and of course, you may want to keep it that way to make it a challenge.
Also, Elves and Dwarves are kicking asses (as it should be).
Thank you again.

Glad you're enjoying! If you'd like to test 1.2 and its 12 new army lists, just shoot me a PM.

Lennard and I played a mirror match, Mordor vs Gondor.
The Orcs won both games, probably the terrain with a valley across the middle of the map helped a little.
3) Nazgul unit - currently inflicts a -1 to all CTs taken by enemy units within 2 squares. Both the degree of CT malus and distance can be adjusted if testing shows that to be necessary.
I think the Nazgul is a good unit, but there is only one so the costing is OK as it is. Probably the best value units for Mordor were all the assorted cheap boworcs.

Thanks. Do you think they need to have their availability reduced?

Certainly not more than one with an army.
Should you restrict them to less armies - not sure. Probably not with too many lists, maybe one or two - have not looked at how many lists have them now.

Sorry I meant the archers, not the ringwraiths

Think I would need to play more games to have an opinion on that.

New in version 1.2:
1) New army lists:
- Adúnabar (North)
Adúnabar (South)
Angmar
Arnor
Arnor (Fourth Age)
Gondor (Fourth Age)
Haradrim (Inland Tribes)
Hillmen
Northmen
Rohan (Fourth Age)
Umbar
Wainriders
2) Noldor units now provide a +1 to CTs taken by adjacent friendlies.
3) Trolls changed to Undrilled Heavy Foot that can pursue, costed accordingly
4) Minor changes to unit quantities in existing lists
5) Date ranges added to campaign army lists to prevent some anachronistic matchups from appearing
6) Army list descriptions now include both unique mechanics and background
7) Unit descriptions include mechanics explanations where length allows
Thanks to kronenblatt once again for doing banners, and Fourth Age Total War team for Adúnabar concept/banner.
