Also they can only rout away from charges they are the target of. Not charges they become the target of due to their rout.

You are adding the word respectively to the end of the first sentance of the second bullet point on p100. If you break under any of the specified conditions, then you rout away from all of the enemy meeting any of the specified conditions.
Just because you are being charged doesn't make the enemy in contact - and that likely fragged you in the first place - less of a threat.

That's certainly how I've been playing it. The BG in combat will still pursue you if it can too.
