Hi Paul
I'm happy to know the first round draw but have been looking in my crystal ball and expect to play Swiss!
Have you plans to keep the York players apart for any rounds?
Cheers
Rob

Knowing the draw is fine for me.
Isn't Frenchie a bit non-PC?

"we will play a minimum of 10 bounds per game and blitz will apply "
Blitz rules for FoG... never seen or heard of them before, what are they?
IMHO 10 is too low to be used as an acceptable number of completed bounds to be used in FoG.

hi
frenchie is the name of the chap on his form !
blitz -no idea just making it up as i go along - i think we should aim to play a certain number of bounds thats all to encourage making a game of it. But main thing is to have fun and as long as all games are played ok then its fine.
will put draw up some time soon or tomorrow

Oh in that case:-
An officer in the U.S. Naval reserve was attending a conference of officers from the U.S. navy and the French navy. At a cocktail reception, he found himself in a small group that included personnel from both navies. A French admiral started complaining that whereas Europeans learned many languages, Americans learned only English. He then asked: ‘Why is it that we have to speak English at these conferences rather than speak French?’ Without hesitating, an American admiral replied: ‘Maybe it’s because the Brits, Canadians, Aussies and Americans arranged it so you wouldn’t have to speak German.’

Is this a comment on his expanding waist line?
Draw looks interesting Mamluks v Rajputs looks an exciting match.
Mine is a historic clash of the little known Ottoman invasion up the Amazon where Suliman the Slimey came a cropper. Let's hope history does not repeat itself!
It depends on the Friday night festivities I find the formula:
Performance inversley propostional to ale drunk the night before to be true!!
looking forwatrd to it.

Don't worry Dave, I am the nemesis of the Swiss.
Faced them twice in my wargaming career and beat them well both times.

Oh and I ended up down that nasty lane again. I tried going through a raging torrent but after the water started going over my bonnet before halfway I decided to reverse out. Thank goodness my engine didn't give out! I ended up with a 30 minute detour but at least home in one piece!
