FoG is a turn based hex based strategy game so any similarities with Total War will be extremely hard to find!
I think you'll find there are different drivers for people to play computer based war games than table top games. I for one would not equate the two and they are very different and believe they will appeal to different people. Model railroad's for example have not been reduced by the introduction of software to model layouts or train simulators. The computer vs tabletop experience have a similar base but quite different in delivery and as a 'hobby'.JCgoose wrote:True, though the total war series was a very broken game with far too many power units and tactics that broke the poor AI despite the number of patches. I am hoping FoG PC is able to stay away from thissphallen wrote:I don't think the Total War series has kept people from playing minis. -Steve
At the campaign/strategic level, the Total War games are turn based as well. Only at the battle/tactical level are they real time. And the campaign game strategic level in Total War is interesting enough to be playable with or without playing the real time battles. Will the campaign/strategic level of FoG be similarly involved and interesting or will it really only be interesting for fighting individual battles?iainmcneil wrote:FoG is a turn based hex based strategy game so any similarities with Total War will be extremely hard to find!
