The combination of the Roman cohorts with the Lusitanian medium foot, medium cavalry and skirmishers were too much for the Iberians.

P.S. Once again, the "Mediterranean Wooded" map generated by the game was an open plain with a few groups of trees in the main part of the map, and more around the edges where they did no one any good.

It reminded me of the Monty Python sketch "How Not To Be Seen".

This match started off badly for the Sertorians when a Legionnaire got a pushback which they spontaneously followed.
That broke their battle line and ultimately resulted in the Legionnaire unit being flanked. A medium-foot unit was thrust into the gap but the situation was desperate in the middle for most of the game. The Celtiberians used their more numerous right flank units to outturn the Sertorian army when their opponent was doing the same to them. From there, it was a desperate race to the conclusion which the Sertorians were fortunate to win.

A good and lucky chariot charge cleared the Mitanni center of a few good units and open the path to victory.

gfs26 (Roman 197-284) defeted Indibil (Germanic Horse tribes 260-492) 61-56 , final score 64-56

A very close battle, undecided until the very last turns. Romans managed to stop the attempt of a flank attack on their right flank, with cavalry and some supporting strong infantry units opposing to overwhelming Gothic cavalry... the artillery in support also was very effective in the task of weakening the Gothic cavalry. On the other flank,the Gothic warbands attacked, but were stopped by Roman Legionaries... losses on both sides, but in the end Rome was victorious!

A battle in rough hills and difficult slopes. We caught the Egyptians in a gorge after a feigned retreat on our left. Our right fell back to a hill top and some agricultural plots in the face of his massive chariot attack. The Egyptian commander showed no lack of will to take the fight to his foe and almost won this fight.

Rafydedel (Thracian) draws against EricDoman1 (lysimachid) 62-62

Lysimachid light troops and artillery did a good preparation of the assault for the phalanxes. Thracian however managed to obtain flanking opportunities thanks to higher number, but many of their flanking failed to bring success in battle. Thanks to number and cavalry, they managed to draw with the Lysimachid at the last minute.

Karvon's Arabs defeated olddog52's Jewish Revolt 66-57 for a score of 63-57.

A brutal slugfest in the marshes. We overloaded and overwhelmed the Jewish left for a substantial early lead, but the surviving zealots held fast and carved up wave after wave of our irregulars and rallied time and again before finally collapsing.

Two very different games - in the first the large hill on the Urartian left became the site of a toe to toe stand-up fight with the Assyrian cavalry and chariots overcoming the more numerous Urartian cavalry and camels with my opponent giving me a lesson in great use of the Assyrian skirmishers and some supporting spear/archer units. Unfortunately the use of the spears and archers meant the Assyrian left was slowly overwhelmed below a rocky steep hill and in the final turn the Assyrian centre which had stood, incredibly well against the few Urartian quality infantry, was outflanked and finally broke and tipped the balance. This just before the Assyrian cavalry finally outflanked the Urartian centre. One more stand and the victory would have gone the other way.

In the matched game the Assyrians won after Uraratian cavalry and chariots on the right were became stuck behind the steep rocky hill and unable to intervene after the hill was quickly occupied by Assyrian skirmishers. The Uraratian left was then at a big disadvantage and the centre caught by massed fire was also broken through with flanking roll ups possible for a big collapse. Until that point the game was tight.
