Hi
any chance you double checking the files in this mod - I installed this and the dark age mod but neither worked. They did not turn up in the campaigns menu (or am I miss understanding what they do). I did try re-downloads, and to prove I was installing correctly installed the TT Mod in "Campaigns" and it worked as expected.
Thanks in advance, let me know if you want more info
Hello, thanks for trying out the mod, and sorry about the difficulty! Did you install them by downloading, and unzipping them into the CAMPAIGNS folder? They should be available for custom battles if put in the CAMPAIGNS folder, and for multiplayer battles if put into the MULTIPLAYER folder.
They aren't campaigns as in what you get in the Campaigns button from the main menu where you fight a series of pre-arranged battles, if that's what you mean. That would be a distinct sort of mod afaik. I've actually never made that sort of mod, but may look into it! Also, Epic Battles options can be made for a CAMPAIGNS folder mod by using the editor, and then global mods are yet another type of mod compatible with empires battles imports and quick battles or fight now I think? Not sure about that last one.
Do custom battles work for you?

I downloaded the mod recently, and noticed that when unzipped it created a folder called "Ancient Greek Mod v1.1-20220818T220426Z-001", with the actual mod folder "Ancient Greek Mod v1.1" inside it.
If someone just put the Ancient Greek Mod v1.1-20220818T220426Z-001 folder into their Campaigns folder, it would not work of course.
What you have to do is put the Ancient Greek Mod v1.1 folder into your Campaigns folder.
I don't know if that explains neil's difficulties, but it is a possibility.

ah yes, that would also explain it as well. Did you download the v1.1 folder itself alone, or the whole link with both versions? I used to host these on dropbox but just put this most recent one on google drive, and perhaps that is causing some difficulties.

I just downloaded the v1.1, and it was from Google Drive.
BTW, it wouldn't work with the latest beta game version that I am testing.

Hi
thanks for you both trying to help. Yes I did use the correct folder, but did not realise it would not create custom campaigns, so only looked there, not in custom battles. (I also tried it with dark age mod with same result although obviously that would be the same). Happy to download again and see if they work for custom battles/post screenshots if it helps.
cheers

Ah, I see.
BTW, it is relatively easy to convert a Custom battles Mod to a Custom campaigns mod.
First create a copy of the whole Custom battles mod folder.
Rename it something like Ancient_Greek_Campaigns (for instance).
Copy the Data/UI folder from an existing campaign, and paste it into your new campaigns folders Data folder. I think the UI folder can come from any campaign, I think they are all the same, but if you have Silk Road Campaigns or TT Mod Campaigns just use one of them.
In your new campaigns Text1.txt, change the IDS_CAMPAIGN_NAME, and IDS_CAMPAIGN_TEXT, entries to something that makes sense, ie:
IDS_CAMPAIGN_NAME,"Ancient Greek Mod Campaigns",
IDS_CAMPAIGN_TEXT,"This is the campaign version of the Ancient Greek Mod",
Finally, copy the CAMPAIGN.txt file from an existing user created campaign (ie; TT Mod campaigns or Silk Road campaigns) or from the vanilla CaesarCampaign folder, and paste it into your new campaign folder.

yeah I always end up having to update the mod code to keep up lol. Hopefully the vanilla code will stabilize soon.
and thanks for that explanation about how to make campaigns!

v1.2 changelist:
Rules:
Units now take a morale check on refusing to charge.
Psiloi don't count towards percent routed
Units have a fear rating now, visible in their unit card UI, that affects refusals.
Removed dark ages mod changes that had made light foot harder to catch, and allowed them to melee disrupted non lights if they had melee capability.
Non-Light infantry cannot about face in a single turn anymore
Units:
With the Philip II Macedonian army, the alt mod pikes have been added to the mod (see changelist pdf for more info on rules for those)
Added a darts-like low impact POA only on receiving charges for Psiloi
With the Italian armies various new unit types have been added (Italian/Apulian cavalry, Italian citizen and mercenary hoplites, etc...)
Misc:
Map heights have been greatly reduced and armies start a bit closer to one another.
Some tweaks to refuse values (as always in the charge tooltip)
Mediterranean Agricultural is default map now
Army Lists added:
Late Peloponnesian
Late Delian
Phokian
Illyrian
Macedonian (Phillip II)
Tarentum
Iapygian
Spartan lists also adjusted to have a few fewer Spartiates, especially on the later list, and Spartiates are a bit more expensive.
let me know if you have any issues with downloading, playing custom battles, or setting up multiplayer games, or any weird bugs or crashes

so this did work for me, but I think that the general purchasing in the mod prevents it from working well as a campaign, as you just end up with one general for your army after the first battle, because you do not get the opportunity to choose units again after that as far as I can tell (I'm not sure I don't normally play the campaigns).

Hi, yes I was warned recently that the newest version of FoG2 would not be compatible with these mods and I'd have to make some updates, but have not had the time recently. I will look into getting updated versions of these as soon as I can.
