deeter (Romans) defeats Aetius (Etruscans) 64-35. The Etruscans fought well but couldn't overcome Rome's points advantage.

Was it Etruscans? You attacked Apulia, right?

Round 1 (340-290 BC): Concluded battles

by kronenblatt
Battles (Round 1, 340 - 290 BC)
  1. Aetius39 as Roman 340 - 281 BC (1760 FP) attacks Apulia (Mediterranean Agricultural) with deeter (1600 FP) as opponent.
    => Aetius39 defeats deeter 47-12.
  2. deeter as Roman 340 - 281 BC (1760 FP) attacks Apulia (Mediterranean Agricultural) with Aetius39 (1600 FP) as opponent.
    => deeter defeats Aetius39 64-35.
  3. dim30 as Roman 340 - 281 BC (1760 FP) attacks Sardinia et Sicilia (Mediterranean Agricultural) with Doyley50 (1600 FP) as opponent.
    => dim30 defeats Doyley50 40-13.
  4. Doyley50 Roman 340-281BC (1760 FP) attacks Cisalpina (Mediterranean Agricultural) with kronenblatt (1600 FP) as opponent.
    => Doyley50 defeats kronenblatt 60-31.
  5. kronenblatt as Roman 340 - 281 BC (1760 FP) attacks Cisalpina (Mediterranean Agricultural) with dim30 (1600 FP) as opponent.
    => kronenblatt defeats dim30 49-22.

Round 2 (290-240 BC): Attack declarations

by kronenblatt
This second round (290 - 240 BC) allows for 1-2 attacks per player upon provinces connected by land or sea to the provinces you already control.

If making more than one attack, you'll divide up your FP adjustment (currently +200 FP for all players) evenly between these attacks.

If you decide to select the map terrain of the province attacked (then doing so in the attack declaration), then there's a -40 FP adjustment, and if you leave that to the defender, then you'll get a +40 FP adjustment (in both cases of course only if there's more than one map terrain to choose from for that particular province).

We can all submit our attack declarations at the same time, not needing to wait for each other, in this thread by Wednesday (March 23) at the latest.

Any of the other players can be chosen as opponents, but that player can not be chosen again until all other players thereafter have in between been chosen as opponents too (if possible, please also choose opponents who haven't yet been chosen that round, in order to distribute games evenly among players in each round).

Since it's now 290-240 BC, two different Roman armies can be selected in each attack: Roman 280-220 BC and Roman 340-281 BC, both overlapping 290-240 BC. You can, as attacker, select allies available in-game (TT mod) to the Roman army list, the time period (290-240 BC), and the provinces you control.

A player's attack declarations must include the following information:
  • The Roman army list (and allies, if any) used by the player in his attack.
  • The province attacked.
  • The player's Virtus FP adjustment for the attack (basically his total Virtus FP adjustment divided by the number of attacks that he is making that round).
  • The map terrain, if he (as attacker) decides to make that selection.
  • The player to be his opponent as defender.
    • Any of the other players can be chosen (whether such players can still make attacks of their own or not), but that player can not be chosen again until all other players thereafter have in between been chosen as opponents too.
  • Example (for round 3, 240 - 190 BC): Roman 199 - 106 BC attacks Lugdunensis. +120 FP. North European Wooded. Aetius39 as opponent.

kronenblatt's attack declarations (2, 290-240 BC)

1. Roman 280-220 BC attacks Narbonensis. +140 FP. Aetius39 as opponent.
2. Roman 280-220 BC attacks Sardinia et Sicilia. +60 FP. Mediterranean Agricultural. deeter as opponent.

Explanatory comments
  • I can not choose dim30 as opponent again, until I've chosen all other players, but then I'm free once again to choose whoever I want to, in whichever order.
  • Since I decide to make two attacks (I could have kept it to just one attack, at +200 FP), my FP adjustment of +200 FP is divided into two equal parts, i.e., 200 / 2 = +100 FP for each battle.
  • I could have chosen different Roman armies in the two battles (Roman 280-220 BC in one and Roman 340-281 BC in the other) but decided not to.
  • And since I let Aetius39 (my opponent in my first battle) choose the map terrain for my attack (from what is possible in Narbonensis, i.e., between Mediterranean Hilly and Mediterranean Agricultural), I'll get a +40 FP adjustment on top of my original +100 for that battle, thus resulting in +140 FP. In the second battle, in contrast, I get a -40 FP adjustment (i.e., "only" +60 FP) since I choose the terrain there myself. (Making these different choices from a pedagogical point of view, in order to illustrate.)
  • Aetius39 and deeter will now select historically appropriate (or at least plausible) army list (no allies) during the years 290 - 240 BC for the respective provinces that they're defending. In addition, Aetius39 will choose the map terrain for his battle (out of Narbonensis' Mediterranean Hilly and Mediterranean Agricultural).

Deeter
If you're making only one attack, you'll get your current FP adjustment (+200 FP) undivided. Plus since you're not choosing the terrain, you'll get another +40 FP. In total, +240 FP (instead of +140 FP). Is that what you want?
