For initial release 25-26 scenarios. This does not include what-if scenarios, which will be added in a later version.
More info will follow soon in a progress report after i posted the screenshots up to scenario 12.

It would be great to expand the unit lineup by combining it with the PHkas / Rebel mod, as an example. Still, there are few Italian units in the original.

If the mod you refer to, respects the vanilla unit ID's in the equipment file, than i see no reason why it shouldn't work.
I'm using my own equipment file, which is solely based on vanilla units. See underneath.

The first 12 scenarios of this campaign lets you build a core force of Italian units. They can reach 225 experience; this restriction is off when the Germans join in the 13th scenario. Then you can still use your veteran Italian units alongside the German ones. Purchases and upgrades can be done for every unit of both nations. The gamerule file is slightly altered, the heroes will appear somewhat faster than normal. The first release of the campaign will contain 25-26 scenarios with a maximum core force of 30 units + 5 SE units. I have three scenarios left to make and test.

I saw some of the units are sharing same icons. Do you consider to use more corrected icons to replace them?

No, not for the equipment file i'm using anyway.
But the campaign should be playable with any personal equipment file as long as the vanilla unit ID's are the same.
The core army starts small in this campaign, so there is plenty of opportunity to purchase units from your personal equipment file which are not present in the vanilla equipment file.
