i get the thing where they want to skip some people for political reasons, but what always puzzled me was why wasnt kurt knipsel never introduced.
I mean wasnt Knispel in trouble because he intervened to stop abuse of Soviet POW ? and at Oswec he passed on opportunity to easily destroy soviet convoy because soviets were escorting civilians. Like i dont get why they dont put him there.
yeah i get why they woulnd want Michael Wittmann, but krut thats a puzzle
Hell the convoy thing offers perfect opportunity for recruitment by commendation.

Well, he was in PC1 but only as a temporary hero; not one that remained in your core after the scenario. I used to go into the game files and make him permanent. But yes, you're right. He never got promoted very high because of his disregard for military protocol, keeping his hear "long" and sporting facial hair. Began in '41 as a gunner on a Pz. IV (short-barreled 75mm) in the 12th Panzer Division and made his mark starting there (pun intended). That's why I thought of "precision weapon" as an appropriate trait. Perhaps one of Hit and Run/No Retaliation/First Strike too or instead. Can't make him Superman or "Rudel on the Ground" like in PC1 though. Many people I think would complain that he's too over-powered then. Problem with Tank Killer or Butcher are that they only work specifically against tanks and infantry, not all hard and soft targets. I think Knispel should get a bonus that goes beyond that. The best Tiger aces took out all manner of targets, including AT guns which they considered a greater threat than enemy tanks.

Your comments reminded me of Czech pilot fought in battle of Britain. He was considered a danger to fellow pilots when flying in formation so they gave him his own aircraft and let him fly his own missions by himself. Josef Frantisek who was flying as guest of 303 squadron. He was highest non British ace of battle of Britain with 17 kills. He received DFM and bar.

I think there was also another one who got transfered to polish squadron as Czech because he was too reckless and even for Poles he was one of their most reckless ones.

Whole squadron attacked Germans they seen while on training flight. So yeah they had reputation for not following orders but fighting very hard. Battle of Britain couldn't be won without all different nationalities helped out. One of ironic parts all racism in world yet ww2 was effort by so many nations fighting as commonwealth.
