Both Netherland and Belgium leads to Dunkirk, so no need to worry. Netherland requires more air and paradrop operations, while Belgium requires more armoured and ground operations.

I prefer the Belgium path. The first few turns in Hannut can be challenging, but afterwards you can capture a lot of yummy French equipment. IIRC there are at least 4 Somua S35s (3 of them overstrength) and several Panhard ACs. My Char B1 with overwhelming attack & envelopment combo loves that scenario :D - even better if I have a scavenger hero added to it...

IMHO, Hannut also has the best AI performance in any of the AO scenarios. Because the AI actually moves a few units first, before attacking. And the two AIs (Belgium and French) keep switching as if they are playing simultaneously and coordinating their moves. That way it can set up devastating attacks or traps, and feels like I'm playing against a competent AI instead of one that just relies on OS units. The AI doesn't get any reinforcements and moves all the way back to base to reinforce, so eventually the scenario gets easier.

If the AO41 Moscow scenario AIs behaved the same way, I think quite a few of us wouldn't make it to the Kremlin...

I totally agree. Plus I just personally like the armor battle in Hannut more than the airborne operations in Netherlands.

Around the start of Denmark, you will be asked whether to exchange or not.
